DO NOT BUY THIS REFRIGERATOR

Cooling in our very expensive, 2-1/2 year old (five months out of warranty) Samsung refrigerator model #rf18a5101sr/aa stopped working, spoiling all food. Bottom line, it's probably the control panel motherboard, which is a known problem with this model. Repair would cost 1/3 the price of a new unit and would be warranted for 90 days!!! DO NOT BUY this unreliable model.

Worked well for a few days

bought this refrigerator because it was perfect depth for condominium. stopped cooling a couple days later. powered off and plugged back in, worked well for about 10 days and stopped cooling again. this randomly occurs and happens about 4 times a month so i have to catch it before it spoils my food. had service technician come out, but he's never heard of this happening and left without resolution. going to reach out again and see if we can get this issue resolved.

There are a few ways to tell if your refrigerator has a power issue, such as if the lights suddenly do not turn on or if the interior feels warm. You can get your refrigerator back to working by checking a few things around your home, like the circuit breaker.

i have enjoyed my refrigerator thus far however i do have several issues with my freezer. the icemaker drops ice at the back of the freezer, completely avoiding the ice tray and the freezer is smaller than i expected. i’m single with no kids so one would think that i do not need to big of a freezer. but this freezer is still too small with it being just me. also the freezer door does not ipem wide enough.

Samsung's ice makers are designed to stop when they're full. There are two methods for this: an optical sensor or a mechanical arm, which detects when ice has piled high enough. If your ice maker won't stop making ice, it means ice is not piling high enough to reach the sensor or arm, typically because the ice bucket is not in the proper position.

Nice look, unacceptably poor electronics.

Update from an earlier review.* Wanted to like this unit. But it is unacceptable that every time there is no electricity for any reason for a moment, unless I manage to both catch this and joggle it into restarting it just sits there. There is no excuse for such a poor design. *Review titled "Lemon". This unit had a problem originally-Samsung service came ahead of schedule and dealt with it quite well. But this is now the THIRD time we've had to throw out the contents of the refrigerator because it would not restart after a momentary power loss.

Already stopped working after 10 months

[This review was collected as part of a promotion.] I bought not even a year ago and it stopped working twice. We had to throw all our food away and lost tons of money in the process. The freezer randomly stops making ice. Also the outside dents easily and has lots of dents in it after not even a year. I’ve never had a fridge do that before. Way too expensive for the quality.

I’m so upset with this refrigerator bought it eight months ago and it’s already turned off twice and had to reset twice. Lost lots of food. Food cost way too much right now to be worried about your fridge turning off. How are you supposed to recommend a refrigerator that doesn’t work?

Do not buy this refrigerator!

I purchased this refrigerator on April 12 and it stopped working July 15. Three scheduled appointments have been canceled. It is now August 18. I have lost over $300 worth of food and have had to purchase ice and coolers while waiting for repairs. I would give this product zero stars if possible. Total waste of hard-earned mone and major inconvenience.

Fridge too unreliable for use in an RV

[This review was collected as part of a promotion.] unit has barely any time on it and it threw a 81C error. cant get it to clear. Getting service was extremely difficult and to-date have not gotten service to fix it due to Samsung's very inefficient service.
