I've had a tempur-pedic neck pillow for 7 years and LOVED it. I got a new one in Dec. and I'm very disappointed. They must have changed something because it is extremely hard. My husband sits on it during the day at his desk in hopes of breaking it in but this hasn't work. I can't make it though the night with this pillow. I used to recommend it all the time but not anymore.

Sometimes I sleep on it and I feel like my head is being cradled by the hands of God! Other times, it's just truly uncomfortable. I've found it's best when my muscles are sore. Then it's really, really firm and offers such great support. But even so, I can only lay on it for about 45 minutes before it becomes painful. It's very therapeutic during the first 45 minutes. Then when my muscles are back to normal, it just feels so hard and it feels like it's pushing back on me with such force. Also the neck part is really high, I often sleep with it turned around on the lower end. I'm mainly a back and side sleeper and have tried other neck pillows that were just so soft and offered no support whatsoever. This pillow feels too hard at times. I'd highly recommend it for therapeutic reasons, like if your neck and shoulder muscles are sore, but I wouldn't recommend it for a whole night's sleep. Also, a few times when I've fallen asleep on it, I've woken up with my ear(s) hurting because of it pushing back on me. It's like all the nerves in my ear(s) got pinched during the night. Think of this as your mini chiropractor, I have another pillow that I switch too after this one has healed me. It's worth the price, but don't expect it to be your only pillow.

I've used the pillow for several years. We just got back from a 2 week vacation and used pillows in 3 hotels and a cruise ship. I didn't find a comfortable pillow in any of them. Got back home and what a relief to get back to this pillow. Now ordering for my use on vacation and my daughter's house when we visit there.

This pillow arrived with a terrible, musty smell. It's kind of like mildew, like a closet that hasn't been opened in years. Months later, and after trying everything to remove the smell, including spraying it with Febreeze, it's still there.

I need support to relieve stiffness, soreness & limited range of motion; of my neck. I have purchased less expensive contour pillows in the past, they were not effective. Nor was a regular pillow folded. I purchased this one at the recommendation of a Dr of Chiropractic's. It is a much smaller pillow - based on the Dr's assessment of my body frame size. I thought at first that it was not going to be adequate. It is firmer then any other I have tried & conforms to my frame. So far retaining its shape & firmness. It is expensive, but for me money well spent. I am very pleased.
