I bought this a little while ago and have only used once. I turned it on this weekend. I was able to do a couple pages then it stop heating up. I turned it off to see if turning it off would help it to heat up when I turned it back on. It turned on, made noise like it was laminating then turned off. I have waited a day and it still won't turn back on. I was happy to get this, but now I feel like it was a waste of money.
No, I would not recommend this to a friend.

Seems to be a trend...

As I look through the reviews I see the same thing happening to many others as has happened to me. The laminator has turned off and will not turn back on. Used it ok for a while, but suddenly it quit and seems to be dead. Don't buy.

Used Twice

I used this product two times, weeks apart from each other. I used it last 4 days prior to today and today it won’t turn on. I’ve tried several outlets and nothing. Waste of money as it seems this is happening to more than just myself.

Disaster. Used once. Then broke.

Laminated fine first session. Put back in box, stores on shelf. A couple months later, took out of box, plugged in. Heated very hot, then died. Exactly as described in all these other reviews. What a joke. Of course I don’t have the receipt! >-|

Like all the others, I used it a couple of times and thought it was great. Put away for a couple of weeks and went to use again, it did not work. It smelled like it was burning and over heated instantly.

Breaks quickly

I am a teacher and love to have a laminator to use in a quick pinch. The great thing about this is that it doesn't jam. The terrible feature is that it breaks rather quickly. I've gone through two already and need to find a new one. Both times the laminator wouldn't heat up anymore after about 15 uses, which isn't much! Very disappointing!

Less than poor

This product began acting up about 18 months in with only occasional use - it would turn off automatically after running one laminating sheet through, sometimes in the middle of laminating a sheet. Then at 26 months of still occasional to rare use, it stopped running in the middle of a sheet (the first one I put through that day) and would not turn back on. I'm sorry I purchased the second laminator - the first Scotch laminator I owned was recalled so I question the reliability of any of their products.
