Stopped working after five uses

I bought this item at the end of August. I have only used it about 5 times and it stopped working. Very frustrating!!
No, I would not recommend this to a friend.

Quits!

I've bought two of these, both quit working within a year of light use. Both have quit working. I am a teacher. I only use this in my room for last minute or occasional use. I use the big machine in the workroom for the bulk of my laminating.
No, I would not recommend this to a friend.

Does not Last

I loved this when it worked but one day, it just would not turn on. I am a teacher and this was so convenient
and I only used it a small handful amount of time. I hate wasting money and this was a waste.

Bummer

I was soooo excited to get this laminator for Christmas! It had a super weird smell when I turned it on that I thought would go away, but it never did. It made my entire house smell so much I wouldn't even use it when my kids were home. And then about 2 months ago it just stopped working. It doesn't turn on at all, and when I reached out for help I was told to be sure it was plugged in. I just wanted something for simple projects. What a bummer.

Will not turn on.

I have had the laminator for about 2 years and only use it at the end of the school year for a couple things. I used it yesterday for about 10 sheets. Today it simply will not turn on. I have seen this in several other reviews too! Did anyone find a solution?

I laminated 3 things then while I was printing the next sets it went in to the flashing green ready and will not work anymore. I used it last year no problems very disappointing as now I have to spend more money.
