Pleasantly Surprised

[This review was collected as part of a promotion.] I was skeptical that this was anything more than a gimmick but I was pleasantly surprised. Simple to use and actually makes pretty good tasting ice cream. This is definitely a fun option to be able to make small batches and experiment without needing a traditional old school machine.

Easy to use!

[This review was collected as part of a promotion.] This ice cream maker was very easy to use but also time consuming. We had to churn for 15-20 min and then if we wanted the ice cream more firm we had to put in freezer for more firm consistency. We made vanilla and added chocolate chips and it was good!

[This review was collected as part of a promotion.] This was something that I didn't know that I needed. It was a little more work than I was expecting, but it's completely worth it. This makes the perfect portion of the best ice cream I've ever tasted. I love that it's a few simple ingredients. This takes a little work and preparation. You need to freeze the empty mug for at least 24 hours. After you heat the ingredients, you have to allow them to cool, before putting them in the ice cream maker. I also put the ice cream back into the freezer, for a few hours, so it could be firmer. This isn't an instant ice cream option, but if you can be patient, you will be in for quite a treat. I loved every creamy bite.

[This review was collected as part of a promotion.] The My Mug Ice Cream Maker is a fun and easy-to-use appliance that allows you to make delicious, homemade ice cream in just a few simple steps. The device is designed to resemble a mug, with a clear plastic body and a white plastic lid that doubles as a handle.
Using the My Mug Ice Cream Maker is incredibly simple. First, you'll need to freeze the device for at least 8 hours before use. Once it's frozen, you can add your ice cream mixture to the mug and use the provided spoon to mix and churn the ice cream. Within a few minutes, your ice cream will start to thicken and freeze, resulting in a perfectly creamy and delicious dessert.
One of the things I love about the My Mug Ice Cream Maker is how easy it is to clean. The clear plastic body and spoon can be washed with soap and water, and the lid can be wiped down with a damp cloth. Additionally, the compact size of the device makes it easy to store in a small kitchen or even in a freezer.

Ideal for those who plan ahead

[This review was collected as part of a promotion.] Dash My Mug Ice Cream Maker is perfect for those who for whatever reason don't store ice cream in the freezer or who want ultimate control over their desserts, or for those who may struggle with willpower. **IF** you plan ahead (meaning, if you keep the mug in the freezer), a nice single-serving frozen treat is 20 minutes away. That is less than the time it probably takes for DoorDash or UberEats, if you use those services, or a trip to the market. It is in essence a mini version, and Dash has loads of these adorable mini appliances, of a certain major brand ice cream maker that similarly relies on the use of a gel-filled container that needs to be fully frozen in advance of using it.
The build quality is very nice, and Dash thoughtfully includes a transparent shield that snaps in place between the diminutive motor assembly and the mug. The shield includes a pouring chute and allows you to monitor the progress of your ice cream. Since I did not see a maximum fill line in the mug, I recommend measuring out your mixture in a measuring cup/pitcher to no more than one cup. Also, there is no indicator light or beep, so I recommend using a timer set to 20 minutes, give or take a couple of minutes.
I don't have a highly cultured palate or a big budget (have you SEEN the price of eggs lately??), so I found the included recipes a bit out of reach. I don't routinely keep heavy whipping cream and half-and-half in my fridge. However, I do have one of those major brand machines that works the same way on a larger scale, and it has a recipe booklet, too. In said recipe booklet, I found an intriguing recipe for a dark chocolate sorbet that used inexpensive and simple ingredients that I always have: water, sugar, cocoa powder, salt, and vanilla. I cooked up the syrup in under 5 minutes and parked it in the fridge for a few days to develop the flavor.
Two days ago, I made the first batch while I was cooking lunch. My plan was to divide the sample batch into ramekins to share with my son. After I divided the sorbet, I tasted it and discovered that it tasted like a very deluxe Fudgsicle! It's even vegan for those who are avoiding dairy for whatever reason. Yesterday I made another batch. The syrup mixture can keep for a while in the fridge. There was a little bit too much to put into the containers in the freezer, so I ate the excess, and it was very delicious. Now I want to make all sorts of frozen desserts. I have bags of frozen fruit that I use for smoothies, and I want to make single-serving sorbets with them.
If you are eating your frozen treat straight from the mug: It has little rubbery feet on the bottom to make it non-skid. The handle is generously sized, but the outside will be quite cold, so you might want to wrap it in a kitchen towel. I'd also recommend using a plastic spoon if you eat straight from the mug, so that you don't risk scratching the interior. I plan to transfer my treats to a separate bowl so I can immediately wash and refreeze the mug.
My verdict: if you are willing to plan ahead a bit and don't mind keeping a mug in the freezer, this little gadget is a great way to have frozen treats in only 20 minutes. If impulse snacking is an issue, this is also a great way to help gain control in this area.

Cute and easy to use

[This review was collected as part of a promotion.] Home made ice cream is the best kind of treat but I can never make it come out right with salt and plastic bags. This little ice cream maker makes it super simple. Freeze the cup, add the ingredients and hit the button. It takes 15 or so minutes and then you can either freeze it further or eat it as more of a soft serve. You can cook ingredients like the egg and sugar before adding but you can also make some items without the extra step.
The machine is fairly quiet and makes enough for at least 2 people to share. More if you just want a little. Over all great little machine, easy to use and clean and a lot of fun, especially with kids.
