I bought the Dyson v8 absolute as my first REAL vacuume. After putting everything together, and trying it I was amazed. I couldn't stop looking at it and kissing it. Thanks dyson.

I wanted to love it, but..

I wanted to love this vacuum, but I don’t. The handle hurts my hand, which would be fine. I’m sure I will adjust to it eventually. However, what disappoints me is the battery life. It says up to 40 mins, but I get less than 20 mins of use, which isn’t nearly enough time to vacuum my first floor let alone my whole house.
No, I would not recommend this to a friend.

We know that battery run time is a very important aspect of performance for our owners, so we developed a trigger that helps maximize the amount of time you can clean on one charge. We chose a light-touch trigger over an on/off switch to ensure that battery life is never wasted by letting the machine run when it's not in active use.
Your machine offers two suction modes, regular and MAX. MAX power provides a generous boost of suction, to clean larger debris or more stubborn messes. The trade-off for this boost of suction, is less run time; about 7 minutes or so. Regular power will give you up to 30-40 minutes of run time, depending on if you're using one of your motorized tools. We would like to ensure that your vacuum is performing as intended. great vacuum, mostly...

This vacuum works great but has missed this mark in three places. #1 needs a quick change second battery like a cordless power tool, #2 docking station needs improvement and should have a better connection for charging not just the existing power cord woven into it, #3 NEEDS an on switch not just the finger trigger. If it had these items it would be the best vacuum ever! its does however work great and is easy to clean just cant believe they missed these easy upgrades that would give the vacuum much better function.

Great vacuum

I recently purchased the Dyson V8 Animal after wanting it for quite awhile. I am so happy I finally bought the Dyson. I already own a Dyson Animal upright for at least 12 years and love it. I also have 2 long haired cats, who like to shed. I like to be able to just pull out the Dyson V8 and be able to vacuum up the hair. It does just as good as my uprigh t Dyson.. Also it is so easy to change the attachments.
