Bought this Dyson V8 Absolute back in December, shouldn't have waited so long. Makes the wood floors shine, picks up dirt in carpets really Good. Would Buy Again !

Great alternative to my heavy canister

It was a great choice. Don’t need to be tethered to a wall outlet. Powerful, versatile and has a dust bin large enough for my needs. Easy to empty the dust bin without making a mess. Best feature is it’s light weight and all the attachments. Worst feature is the short run time and that it has a non-replaceable battery. I use it in combination with my roomba and remove the cat hair from three cats. I have only hardwood and ceramic floors.

Cleaning is bearable now

Wonderful machine. Useful for cleaning any type of dirt or debris, however, not so good for picking up a large amount of needles from the Christmas.

The pistol handle grip needs redesigning. Rubbed a blister on the thumb side especially when using on carpet.
Otherwise, enjoy the machine very much!

Best electric floor vac for tile floors

I have been using Dyson handheld and floor electric vacuums since 2011 and have had almost every electric model. My older V6 absolute floor vac and DC 34 hand vac still work great. I had an older DC 35 floor vac that worked good until a friend borrowed it and ran it under water to clean it, which ruined the motor (it clearly states in the instructions not to run the unit under water, only the filter). I dried it out and it still worked but not as well, so I ended up throwing it away. The models above all use the same cleaning heads/tools which are interchangeable.
Dyson came out with improved electric vacuums that had different head/tool connectors. I purchased the V7 Trigger handheld which has more suction power than any other handheld. I use it for spot clean ups around my parrots sleep cages. The spinning brush head is great for vacuuming my couch or car. The newest floor vac, the V8 absolute, is by far the best floor vac. I use the regular vacuum head on my tile floors. It converts to a handheld which uses the same connection tools as the V7 Trigger. Having 3 parrots, it works great to pick up the lightest of fluff as well as huge chunks of chewed wood or food pellets on my tile floors. The battery lasts long enough for me to vacuum most of my house, but recharging doesn't take that long, so I either use my older V6 Absolute to finish the job, or wait an hour to recharge the battery.
I also use the floor vacs to vacuum up spiders and other insects that may get in my house. Removing the vacuum head and attaching the thin crevice tool allows me to reach spiders on the ceiling without having to risk falling off a ladder/stepstool. Then, simply empty the bin over the toilet to flush it away.

Great new vacuum

Love this vaccum! It is so much more powerful than my other vaccum. I love all of the different attachment pieces, it really helps getting in small crevices. My only complaint is the charge is SO low. It only lasts about 30-40 minutes, I think it should be a minimum of 60 minutes but it’s fine. Still a great device.
