We are satisfied basically with everything but the battery. The more we use our Dyson the less life we seem to be getting from a recharged battery.

Suction is great and it cleans up a lot of pet hair and dust. Max suction is really good as well and container is adequate space to hold dirt/dust/contents. Battery life for time used based on my floor plan is sufficient. I don't like that I have to hold and press the on button/trigger, that item should have an auto lock to keep the machine on or off instead of the constant holding. I also don't like when after vacuuming if you stand up this Dyson, some contents come out of the brush head.

The accessories make the cordless!

I a have an older dyson canister vac and was excited to finally cut the cord. The v8 not only picks stuff up as well as the canister, it came with this cleaning head that works great on hardwood and bathroom tile. This head has changed my cleaning life. Battery good and light. It is odd how a device to help with chores can bring such joy. But true!

This is my second Dyson V8 - I now have one for each floor of my house. This is the most powerful vacuum I have ever used. Totally worth the money!

Power is unbelievable for a stick, cordless vacuum

I have only had this vacuum for a few days and it has already blown me away. My plan was to use it for quick pick-ups or more difficult to reach areas that my regular upright, not a Dyson, couldn't easily handle. I'm now realizing this vacuum outdoes my regular upright in every area, except maybe run time, since my upright is corded.
That is my only disappointment is how quickly the V8 runs down in Max mode and how long it takes to recharge. I have vacuumed the few rooms I have with carpet and it made me sick to see all the dirt and dog hair that ended up in the canister. I now know just how poorly my regular vacuum works, even though its a very high end brand. I may find that after a few times, I won't need the max power to vacuum these rooms, but with the dirt that the V8 picks up in these rooms right now, I feel like I need to use the Max mode to do the job.
Most of my house is wood and the soft hard floor attachment works great. I just removed by real Christmas tree and used the V8 to pick up the needles, which it did like a charm. The canister is so easy to empty too.
Overall, this vacuum is a pleasure to use and will likely replace my regular vacuum, at least until I can purchase a Dyson upright, which will be as quickly as I can.

All the cleaning/vaccuming that I've done...Nothing prepared me for the results of my floor after I used the Dyson V8. I was singing and laughing like a kid with a new toy. I called my sister and told her about it and she tried it on her floor and wanted one of her own.
