Love my V8 "Absolutely "

We started using this the first night on our stairs and it is a great lightweight product. Goes excellently with our Dyson upright.

It works fine on wood floors but not at all on rugs or carpet. Miss our older model. Also was told that the parts on the V8 were interchangeable (by Dyson) to our 59, they are not!
No, I would not recommend this to a friend.

This model will only include the soft roller cleaner head, which was engineered for use on bare or hard floors. This tool is not intended for use on carpeting. If you do have carpeting in the home, you may wish to consider investing in the direct drive cleaner head, which features a spinning brush bar and is intended for use on carpets and area rugs.

I don't know how we managed without it

We bought this a few weeks ago and have used it almost every day. We've never had such web-free ceiling corners and light fixtures, and it's a breeze cleaning around our 2 parrot cages every morning.
It's much quieter than I expected in normal suction mode, which is a plus as the parrots can be started by loud noises.
I never thought I'd like a vacuum cleaner as much as the Dyson Animal we bought almost a decade ago (it still works perfectly, we just wanted something lighter for smaller cleanups), but this V8 Absolute might replace the old work-horse in my affections.
I would recommend this to a friend!

Love that it is cordless!

The cordless feature changed my life. I can vacuum the whole condo and not have to keep finding a new plug. Another great thing is that it works on hardwood and carpet. I had been using two different vacuums previously. It has alot of power. I have a dog with long hair and it picks up just about everything. It's very easy to clean. My only issue with it is that you have to keep pressing the button to use it which is fine. However, the grip rubs on the side of the thumb and forefinger which isn't pleasant. Overall, it is a great vacuum and I highly recommend.

Great vacuum - needs attachments

The V8 is a surprisingly powerful tool. It cleans far better than I expected and I dare say on par with our reasonably expensive non-Dyson canister vacuum that has now been relegated to back-up status. The battery life has not been the problem I feared it might have been. It has battery indicator lights that keep the user informed and, honestly, it was never a problem anyway. I wish the machine had a non-motorized hard floor attachment to help prolong battery life since my house is mostly tile. That small issue aside - I would buy this vacuum again tomorrow without hesitation.

I have had my Dyson for a year. We have a Bernese Mountain Dog, lots of dander and LOTS of hair! When I first used my Dyson I was amazed at the hair and dander that it pulled out , figuring my other really good vacuum was just not doing it’s job. I use my Dyson daily. I love that it is cordless and light weight. It is also easy to
clean! I have already informed my husband , that I will never live without one!
