I wanted to write another review based on having used the vacuum for about four months. I find it to be a very handy vacuum, with plenty of power and very easy to put together. I like that it is light weight and does not have any cords.

I bought this vacuum to keep up with the daily mess my kids make... it has not disappointed me yet! Super quick and easy to use and has great suction power too. Very glad I bought it.

As a Dyson owner for going on 8 years now, I've owned both upright and cordless vacuums and have always been thrilled with their performance. Dyson is one of those companys that just flat out gets it. They listen to their customers, respond to requests, and never stop innovating. Each iteration of their vacuums just keeps getting better and better. I've always appreciated their way of taking technology that is super complex and delivering a product that is simple and intuitive. Believe me when I say...the V8 Absolute is quite possibly their best vacuum to date!
I currently own a DC35 and DC65. After recently moving to a home with all wood floors and ceramic tile, my DC35 has become my prime workhorse. I absolutely love it! It tackles any hard floor task with ease and is extremely versatile on beds, counters, blinds, etc. You name it, it can do it. Or so I thought...
Enter the V8 Absolute! Cue the choir rejoicing! This thing is absolutely ridiculous! You get 4...4!....attachment tools to tackle crevices, electronics, blinds, beds and anything else you can think of. All carefully thought out and once again...they just work. In addition, and this is HUGE, you get 2 main brush heads!!! Genius!! One is wrapped in a microfiber, spongey material and the other is carbon fiber filament head that tackles carpet and rugs with ease. Being that we have wood floors and tile in our home, I've gravitated towards the microfiber head. The team at Dyson are absolute geniuses for creating this head. It dusts, cleans and almost polishes our wood floors after each use. Finally a vacuum that demolishes every size dust particle known to man. No exaggeration...I've never seen these wood floors this clean. The tile is no exception.
A few standouts aside from what I've already mentioned:
1. The connection joints for attachments are 20x better than previous models. They connect with a sturdy CLICK and don't feel as loose as some in the past.
2. The V8 is SUPER quiet in standard mode. You can literally carry a conversation with someone while using it and be able to hear every word. Not true with many in the past or any vacuum for that matter.
3. Emptying the dust bin took some getting used to...and frankly was kind of annoying at first. Until I realized that once again Dyson did this for a reason and it makes cleaning the inside of your vacuum a breeze. Once again..GENIUS!!
4. With the power generated on the microfiber brush head, the vacuum almost SELF-PROPELS itself across low-pile rugs and carpet. The head literally lifts itself while transitioning from wood/hard floor to rug and effortlessly glides across.
5. The connection on the microfiber brush head does not use the familiar ball-wheels to move across the floor, rather a rear smaller microfiber head and a SWIVEL mechanism to effortlessly turn on a dime and mimic your hands motion. It swivels oddly on straightaways, but honestly I think it's just capturing more dust in the process. It literally fits under tight spaces and tables allowing you to clean areas you probably never knew existed.
6. Finally the battery life is SPECTACULAR. I was used to getting about 20-25 minutes on my DC35 before having to recharge. With the V8...I've vacuumed for 40 minutes or so on a single charge. Definitely saves time in the long run.
I can't wait to continue using the V8 to what else it has in store. Once again, Dyson has completely outdone themselves. There is honestly nothing on the market that I've seen that even comes close to this vacuum. Sure there are other brands out there that claim to be better than any Dyson, but bottom line is Dyson JUST GETS IT. Their technology works and is unsurpassed. And their attention to detail in creating complex, fun, simple-to-use machines is why they will always reign supreme. This coming from a guy who loves to vacuum. The V8 Absolute will definitely make your life more enjoyable.

I’m a guy that’s been around a long time. I’m responsible for the floors around here and my life became so much easier with this awesome vacuum. Two houses so we own two. They could not be easier and more efficient to use. Cordless! Long battery life! It reaches everywhere! Great customer service! (I did need a new battery once). Easy to stow while charging. Soooo easy to empty and they pick up all the dirt and dog hair!
Buy one. You will not regret it.

I can do the steps in minutes, the upstairs where my cats spend alot of time and wood floors downstairs! In a few minutes I have vacumed every inch!

The more I use this unit the more I love it. It is so easy and handy. It is amazing being to clean up a mess that would have required getting out the big vacuum and plugging it in.
