Better than the original!

We have the older model for 6 years and when the battery needed replaced we decided to go ahead and buy a new one. I couldn't be happier! It is easier to clean, runs longer, is quieter and overall suction quality is top par.
I would recommend this to a friend!

Awesome Options and Battery Life

I get the 45 minutes + on this vacuum cleaner battery. The V-8 Animal is a cordless, versatile and truly lightweight vacuum that allows me to go from living room to stairs to automobile with absolute ease. I do not mind vacuuming now since it is not a hassle to do so. No cord, no weight, no pulling or lifting. Stairs are no longer daunting and my floors have never looked better. Highly recommended.

We are now a Dyson household. Our latest acquisition, the V8 Vacuum, has proven to be better than we could have anticipated. It's convenient, easy to handle, incredible suction and easy basket clean-up. We will continue to purchase Dyson products.

Read carefully: run time is misleading

Battery is bad. From day one! You can try to run the machine your self and take measurement
The thing is! I wrote a review about this
They contacted me
And it was upset as support was treating me like if I am buying a special machine that needs a special driving license for a heavy machine !
Just admit that run time is not true !
I bet if they have a third party audit for the run time
No, I would not recommend this to a friend.

Hi there, this is Kelly with Dyson. We're sorry to read your review and see that you're having issues with the run time your V8 provides. Your machine offers two suction modes - regular and MAX. Right out of the box, the machine is going to be set to MAX. This mode provides a boost of suction making it ideal for larger messes or more stubborn debris. This mode does give less run time - about 7 minutes or so. Regular power, which should be sufficient for everyday cleaning, will give you up to 30-40 minutes of run time, depending on if you're using the motorized floor tool.

We have used it a lot! It's great for every area of our house! My wife loves it because it's so lightweight and no cord to mess with! I love it for the same reasons actually because I can look like super husband doing quick clean up! Only reason, four stars is the battery life is about 20 min to 40 min depending on setting and attachments used. Very satisfied customers though!

The cordless feature of this vacuum has simplified my life! I have several areas on my wood kitchen floor that seem to always have a collection of crumbs. Now, I just grab the Dyson from the pantry and its taken care of! No more dragging out the corded vacuum and messing with a cord. I also used to dread vacuuming the stairs, now I vacuum them several times a week ....its so simple!
