I had the older model and loved it, however, my husband hated how noisey it was. The new one is much easier on his ears. I like the longer battery life and the improvements to emptying the bin. It is much heavier though.
I would recommend this to a friend!

[This review was collected as part of a promotion.] I have several Dyson products. This product is great for cleaning the car carpets, the dog hair on the kitchen floor and many other uses. And, it has no cord to trip on or move when you change rooms.

Continue to use an older model but added this one based on it's superb improvements. Surprising battery life for the suction power. Low power setting is normally sufficient for my cleaning.

I had figured that battery technology had matured enough to power something like a vacuum cleaner, so not being tethered to a wall outlet is wonderful. The V8 is quite quiet, yet still seems to have adequate suction for most tasks. It is also very light and can maneuver into tight spaces. It is very easy to grab out of its cradle for quick jobs. So far, run time has not been a problem. The power unit is a bit large for tight spots when using some of the accessories, so an optional 3-foot flexible hose would be a nice optional extra. So far, I'm very satisfied!! It's pretty amazing what can collect in its bin!!

Lightweight vacuum

I received this vacuum approx. a week ago, using it everyday, lightweight for 76 year old.
Attachments easy to assemble, easy to dispense cleanout cup and no cord. Love, love it!
