Love this and all of my Dyson products. Only missing a rubber strip on the back, so I can lay it against the wall.

Powerful!

Still have my older model (3 ears) and this one is built stronger and easier to clean while producing a lot more power with less sound!
It pulls itself down so tightly to the carpet on max setting that it becomes work to move it across the surface; but it brushes up the nap better than my upright machine.
The only drawbacks to this model that i can find are two in number: a.) it is heavier than the old machine and b.)the bare floor head is not as easy to get under a low span due to less rotation in the ball of the connector.
Everything else is an upgrade in engineering excellence.

We have a cat and three dogs who all shed. The house is all smooth floors and hair gets everywhere.
The Dyson V8 picks up the hair and the dried dirt they drag in.
Works very well. Great way to clean air ducts, too!

[This review was collected as part of a promotion.] I only have owned this for a few weeks. This is the second dyson stick I have owned. The other lasted about 6 years. So fair this one is more powerful and quieter. That I like. I do not like how the basket empties. It is difficult to pull the lever and you have to remove the attachment in order to do it because of the how it pulls awkwardly to release. I like how my older one just had a clip type release on the bottom/side of the waste basket. It worked good on my stairs which I was pleased about. These are very expensive so I hope this lasts at least as long as my other one did.

Received the Dyson V8 a little over a week ago and it works great. Plenty of suction and battery life. I see no reason to use any of our other vacuums.
