[This review was collected as part of a promotion.] I only have owned this for a few weeks. This is the second dyson stick I have owned. The other lasted about 6 years. So fair this one is more powerful and quieter. That I like. I do not like how the basket empties. It is difficult to pull the lever and you have to remove the attachment in order to do it because of the how it pulls awkwardly to release. I like how my older one just had a clip type release on the bottom/side of the waste basket. It worked good on my stairs which I was pleased about. These are very expensive so I hope this lasts at least as long as my other one did.

Received the Dyson V8 a little over a week ago and it works great. Plenty of suction and battery life. I see no reason to use any of our other vacuums.

Hello MJB, this is Kelly with Dyson. We're sorry to hear that you've found the battery life in the Dyson V8 Absolute to be disappointing. Your vacuum will come with standard and Max power modes. Our cordless models also have a run-time enhancing light touch trigger which ensures battery power is only used when the trigger is pushed. In Max power run time will be up to 7 minutes, and in standard power, you can expect run times of up to 30-40 minutes depending on which tool or attachments you are using. A fully depleted battery will take roughly 5 hours to receive a full charge.

We got the V6 A few years ago and I thought that was the best vacuum I'd ever had. Just got this one last week and I love it! I didn't think it was possible to like it more than the other one, but I do!

Perfect Tool for Cleaning Off Pet Hair

This was a gift that got lost in our last move. I promptly purchased it again because the vacuum is powerful and can pick up pet hair better than any other tried. The real beauty of it is that it’s cordless! Makes it so easy to vacuum the stairs and in tight spaces. It works great inside cars, too!
