Great vaccum.

I don't have any pets but everyone in my family sheds hair like it's a competition! After trying a couple of knock-offs and being thoroughly disappointed with them, I bought the V8 and attained vacuuming nirvana! Don't understand why Consumer Reports consistently excludes all Dyson products from their "Best Buy" ratings ... yeah, they are pricey, but when you look at the quality and features, it's worth it!
I would recommend this to a friend!

Ditch the cord

I purchase in October and absolutely love this vacuum, I have 2.000sf and it's much easier without the cord,plus my floors are cleaner. My cup broke and they replaced it,with no question asked.I highly recommend .Best product I bought. Great customer service

Great Decision! (once again)

I moved to a small 2- story townhome from a large house and wanted a cordless. So I went with what I know. I have a Dyson canister (which is in storage). I purchased a cheaper corded vacuum but does not get the pet hair off furniture and the carpet. I purchased the V8 Absolute. It is so convenient, I take it around the townhouse in no time. It is so effective on the carpet and I can quickly switch attachments to go from carpet to hardwood floors to dusting counters and window sills. I have pets that shed, I almost always vacuum 2x per day anyway, but at least now I am getting more done in less time. ( I told the cashier the same info when she asked if the Dyson actually "gets the carpet cleaner")
Definitely worth forgoing a few trips to my fav coffee shop every month.

Excellent vacuum with great power

We got this vacuum as an upgrade and absolutely love it. Because it's so lightweight it's easy to go anywhere in the house. The only issue I have is that the on button cannot be locked in the on position so you have to ensure you're always squeezing the trigger but otherwise everything else is great.
I would recommend this to a friend!

Amazing

This is an amazing vacuum, I am glad we chose the V8 Absolute. It os powerful but quiet. The amount of dirt and dust I got with my first vacuum after using my old one was so satisfying.
My only comment (and the reason for only 4 stars) is that the grip is neither ergonomic nor padded (Sugru to the rescue). I ask the designers to redesign the grip to be comfortable because after vacuuming for 20 minutes, my hand began to hurt.
But the value for the efficacy is high.

Battery life

Very disappointed in run time. Even on the lower suction setting it gets nowhere near the 30 minute run time it is advertised as having. Also, a real pain in the neck to empty the bin. Difficult to open and close it. I got rid of my old model for this one because of the longer run time it advertised. Pretty disappointed all the way around.
No, I would not recommend this to a friend.

I put off getting a new vacuum. Did lots of research & decided to get v8. I’m very satisfied with its performance, because was afraid of buyers remorse-but that didn’t happen.
