Powerful. Easy to use. Gets dirt and grime out by the binfulls. Fun to use. Can get under furniture, around objects, quick to get job done.

I first bought a V6 and loved it. I then decided to put that one in our motorhome. I ordered a V8. I gave away my other vacuums. This one is SO easy to go to - for everything! We have used it for laminate floors, carpet, cobwebs, windowsills, furniture, under beds, patio furniture, etc. I have arthritic hands and I find this is easier to use. It is light weight and love that it is cordless!!!

Received as a Christmas gift and I love it. I like the powerful suction that picks up tiny specks of lint. Easy to empty and easy to change tools.

Does not work on carpet

Replaced the motor head but does not work on my carpet. Works great on my floors.

Hello Jane, this is Kelly with Dyson. We're sorry to hear that you're having trouble with the direct-drive cleaner head on your Dyson V8. The powerful head features a spinning brush bar designed to remove ground-in dirt from carpeting, and perform equally to pick up dirt and debris from bare flooring. Your machine's cleaner head does feature a sensor inside of the brush motor, which is designed to stop the brush from spinning if too much tension is felt on the motor. If you have thicker or more plush carpeting, you may notice this occurring more frequently, and you may need to adjust the suction on your vacuum.

My cleaning partner.

I bought it 2W ago and it helped to reduce cleaning time almost half.
It is really light and easily movable and powerful. This model can clean every where, floor, carpet, very narrow area, coner area, bed, sofa.
I am totally satisfied, but only one thing I feel a little bit inconvenient is that I have to push the button while I clean the room. There is no automative function.
But, it is really awesome, I can finish the cleaning just for 40m.

BEST VACUUM EVER

I've even owned other Dysons but I have never held one of the hand held, in fact when I first saw them I thought that you would have to be crazy or stupid to purchase one of those. Well, I am now crazy in love with my Dyson V8 Absolute. My husband wasn't as convinced as I was but I wanted it so much that he just said to get it. It is delivered to our door by UPS and I get it out, plug it in to charge it and start reading the instructions. It takes for ever to charge because I am sitting there watching it. Once it is charged we start using it and there hasn't been a day that we don't use it at least two or three or four times a day. My husband uses it as much as I do. I just cleaned my bathroom. I cleaned under the sink and put the brush on the end. I had to ready in quite a ways but the vacuum did all of the work. I used it for every little job and then when I was finished I used it in the drawers and then I used it on the wooden floors. I have to tell you that I hope I never have to go a day without one of these Dysons. LOVE IT!

I'm an older person with a touch of arthritis in my hands and this machine is perfect for my needs. I can handle it easily and the features are great I highly recommend this to anyone looking to purchase a portable vacuum.
