We recently adopted a cat. Not having any pets for the last 15 years in our home, I did not realize how much cat hair accumulates quickly. This has been the best vacuum cleaner I have ever owned. Why would you ever need a vacuum cleaner with a cord ? I had no idea what I was missing out on when I went from room to room with my corded vacuum cleaner- a task I did not enjoy. This vacuum is so quick and easy and gets all of the pet hair up in seconds. I am overjoyed with this vacuum cleaner and very impressed with Dyson. Amazing :)

Fantastic Technology: Super Convenient, Super Effective

We have owned this vacuum cleaner for several months now and everyone in the family loves it: there is nothing so convenient as a handheld Portable vacuum cleaner with terrific cleaning power and no bags to change. It is now super easy to vacuum the carpeting in the car and on the stairs and in the living room. It handles our wooden floors and our tile floors as easily as our carpets. It is so easy to use that our house is simply cleaner because it takes just a few seconds to vacuum up anything. This thing is just fantastic.

Only a couple of attachments available for this.

The vacuum works well. However, they do not have some of the best attachments available for this model. I've owned it for a couple of months now and every time I call they just tell me that they haven't made them in the quick release design and the older style attachment don't work with it. I think it is ridiculous that the item was put out for sale to the public without all the attachment's made for it.
No, I would not recommend this to a friend.

While getting a good number of steps to meet my fitness goals, I have toiled away on the floors of my over 3000 square feet /three story home (hard surfaces in the bathrooms, kitchen, hardwood floors and rug pieces) by using way too many of the usual inefficient, inane, and arcane tools. This week without consulting my wife, sometimes "a man's got to do what a man's got to do"...went out and purchased the v8 Animal. YES!! My floors are clean at last!

V8 animal not very reliable

I loved it while it worked, the power heads stopped working , took it to a repair shop they suggested buying a different brand that was repairable. I liked it so much I bought a new one and have the same problem 9 months later, I would not suggest anyone purchasing the V 8 animal, maybe the newer types work longer, don’t think I will try a fusing again and am shopping for a different brand of stick vacuum.

Great Vacuum

I bought this vacuum several weeks ago and it is all it was said to be. It's easy to use and has a lot of attachments--some of which I haven't used yet! I was so happy that the vacuum head would fit underneath our couch and could pick up the bunnies living there. Our last one would not do that and it was so big and bulky. Although I thought my area rug was clean I was surprised with the dirt that came up the first time I used it. I love it.

Takes a hit and keeps on ticking

[This review was collected as part of a promotion.] I've beaten this vacuum up having a dog and different rugs. It DID eventually stop working because I abused it but Dyson sent me the part under warranty and now it's back to being strong again. Will never buy another brand.
