A little work but great vac

Battery dies before done with one room

I’m going to be buying a new vacuum this evening because my Dustin dies before I’ve even vacuumed one room. It picks up well and is easy to empty but the battery life precludes using this as anything besides a quick spot cleaner. For the money it does not work well enough.
No, I would not recommend this to a friend.

I'm happy to hear you've found your V8 Animal so easy to empty, and have been pleased with the suction power, thus far in your use. Your vacuum will come with standard and Max power modes. Our cordless models also have a run-time enhancing light touch trigger which ensures battery power is only used when the trigger is pushed. The total run time will be up to 40 minutes.
In Max power run time will be up to 7 minutes, and in standard power, you can expect run times of up to 30-40 minutes depending on which tool or attachments you are using. Having a shorter run time does sound unusual, and we'd value the opportunity to go over your machine with you.

Amazing suction on all surfaces!

I can't believe how much dirt/dust this little portable powerhouse pulled out of my recently cleaned carpet! I bought this vacuum to access difficult to reach areas (ceilings, stairs, small spaces), but find that it's the only vacuum I reach for regardless of what I'm cleaning. This is my first Dyson product and it certainly won't be my last. LOVE this vacuum!!!

Works better than anticipated

After a few cleanings, our Dyson V8 Animal+ has finally stopped picking up so much dog hair and dirt. It certainly isn't that the machine is failing....it's just that it took a few vacuum sessions to get everything deep down in our area rugs. We had been using a Rainbow vac, and we thought the carpets were as clean as possible....nope. Works great on the hardwoods as well. I thought, upon assembly, the unit may be awkward to operate, but it is balanced nicely. Great product...!

I have all hardwood floors and the big floor attachment is good for open spaces, but a smaller one without beater bar would be more helpful to go around furniture.
It does not seem to hold a charge very long.
It does have amazing suction.
I don't like the exhaust blowing so close to my face.
Also, in the Operating Manual -- WARNING #25 -- what are you talking about that the machine can give me cancer or mutate my future children?????????????????????????

Great machine, terrible battery life!

This is my second Dyson, I love both machines however the battery in the animal lasts no longer than 4-5 minutes. That is not a exaggeration, this negative almost over shadows it’s great performance when it is charged. Figure the battery out Dyson and i’m All yours.

Love It A lot

I really like the conveinence of my Dyson. It picks up well which I love. Though having it on high power you are lucky to get 20 minutes of run time. I don't like the feature of the way you empty the dirt. I see this feature easily breaking. Other than that I really like how it does such a great job in picking up the dirt.
