L ove it...except for the trigger control!

Pro's- amazing power capacity, holds lots of dirt and dog hair, long charge time, freedom of not having to move electric cord around the house, compact.
Con's- You have to hold trigger to use it. The handle design is a fail. It really hurts my fingers and my hand cramps up after a few minutes of use. Who ever designed this part of it needs to go back to the drawing board! I doubt that I'm the first to report this. Feedback from customers is the best way to learn.
Aside from the handle design, I love this vac and no regrets spending the big bucks to have it. Anxious to see if you revise the design in the near future.

7 min run time on berber carpet

Bought this vacuum yesterday, charged it for 5 hours, I was so excited and vacuumed for 7 min. on Berber carpet it died and now is back on the charger. It's going back on Monday.
No, I would not recommend this to a friend.

Thank you for your review on the V8 Absolute. The V8 is a great cordless for in between cleanings, quick clean ups or small areas as it does feature up to 40 minutes of constant suction in standard mode and 7 minutes on MAX power for tougher jobs. We recommend using it in standard mode to get the longer run time. This can be done by the switch on top of the main body.

Perfect for all surfaces, great suction, and lite weight. This machine is easy to use and even makes vacuuming more enjoyable (if that is possible). I would recommend this machine to anyone.

Useful tool, with a shocking flaw

I love the portability and ease of use that comes with the V8. The hardwood roller is great, while the carpet power tool picks up dog hair with ease.
However, I find that with any extended use (more than a few minutes continuously) I start getting a static shock from the charging port. It's not particularly painful, but certainly annoying. I'd expect better from Dyson, especially given the retail price of this vacuum.
