Save your money!

I wish I would have never bought this vacuum cleaner. Save your money, don't make the same mistake I made. Short run time, low sucking power, long charge time, clogs easily, difficult to get replacement part. I've owned my machine for maybe 2 years now...never agin.
No, I would not recommend this to a friend.

Hi there, this is Kelly with Dyson. We're sorry to hear that you're not having a better experience thus far with your V8 Animal cord-free. Your machine does offer two suction modes, and up to 40 minutes of run time, depending on the mode in use. Right out of the box, your V8 is set to MAX suction mode, which provides a powerful boost of suction power for more stubborn debris or larger messes. This mode will give you about 7 minutes of run time, and is not intended for everyday household cleaning. Regular suction will give you 30-40 minutes of run time, depending on if you're using a motorized attachment.
If you are noticing regular clogging in your machine, it can certainly be a result of a dirty filter or an existing obstruction that is causing poor airflow. We find problems like this can be easily resolved with simple, yet effective troubleshooting. Dyson does back your new machine from an authorized retailer with a free 2-year guarantee. Very short battery charge

This machine will Bearkat vacumn our short flight of stairs 12-13 minutes at best.

we owned a dyson for over 5 years this is my replacement one, we have 4 dogs and 1 cat this take care of the unwanted hair. light weight, easy to carry and move around. Love the accessories. Thanks DYSON for such a great product

This is our first Dyson and I'm very satisfied! We have two long-haired cats and needed a light-weight vacuum that was easy to pull out to keep their area clean. The Dyson V8 Animal vacuum can tackle the fur as well as the cat litter that's tracked out of the box. The various attachments help on the carpeted steps and furniture. I like that it's cordless and I'm also pleased with the battery life.

Works great for small vacuuming jobs

Bought this as a back-up to our corded vacuum cleaner for quick vacuuming jobs. It is a powerful tool for picking up dog hair but agree with other reviews that the battery charge doesn't last that long. But it is lightweight and easy to use, and again has good suction for picking up dog hair.

You thought your old vacuum was getting the dirt, hair, dust and tiny particles? Think again. This power and light weight machine will show you how much other vacuums leave behind. It is worth the investment and will keep your home cleaner and your carpets will last longer.

so far so good

Been using this for a few days now and I like it. The suction seems good, accessories work fine and it's very lightweight. Doing the stairs now is a breeze.
The only issues I noticed so far is that holding the trigger constantly sorta hurts my hand over time. The other issue I see is that when using any of the non-powered attachments, the suction seems pretty low and needs to be on Max mode.
Overall I like this vacuum.
