A Must Have Cleaning Tool

I bought Dyson V8 Animal about a month, I use it every day and it made me fall in love with house cleaning. I love the motor mattress cleaning head which is powerful and practical. The standard multiple floor cleaning head actually works better on the carpet. If you have more hardwood floor, absolutely choose absolutely.

Battery life is terrible

Had the vacuum exactly 1 year and the battery life lasts about 5 minutes before going on and off. Had I read reviews before buying it I would not have. All bad reviews are about battery life. And does not pick up dog hair.
No, I would not recommend this to a friend.

Powerful little vacuum

I have had the Animal ball vacuum for a long time and love it, however I can no longer carry it up the stairs so decided to try this one. I love it! It gets up just as much as the full size and is so easy to use! I can do my entire house on one charge. I love Dyson! They are well worth the money!

The Best of the Best

My Dyson V8 Animal is still going strong after 18 months in a two large dog household. It's so convenient and easy to use, and easily picks up the dog hair and dirt from our hardwoods and carpets. It excels at cleaning dust off base boards and other trims. I'm a very happy customer.

Cleans great for & minutes!!!

Well, I used my new Dyson v8 Animal today for the first time. It cleaned great the dog hair in my car, except 9 minutes into it, it stopped running due to a dead battery - there was one blue light on, but it would not work anymore. So much for the charge lasting 40 minutes!!!
Called Customer Service, and the rep immediately said he was mailing me a new battery, which would arrive within 15 calendar days. Not what I would consider a great start.
No, I would not recommend this to a friend.

Hi there, this is Kelly with Dyson. We're sorry to hear that you were disappointed with your new Dyson V8 Animal. Your machine offers two suction modes; MAX and regular. Right out of the box, the machine is set to MAX power. In this mode, you will get about 7-8 minutes of run time on a full charge. It's not intended for your everyday vacuuming, but rather to provide a boost of suction for larger debris, or more stubborn messes. In regular suction mode, you'll get up to 30-40 minutes of run time, which will vary if you're using the motorized floor tool, or mini tool.

I only wish the battery will last longer so I will not be charging it every time I finish cleaning a room

Best cleaner ever

This is my 2nd dyson -- last time I bought a v6 and gave it to my ex roommate when moving to my new place, so I am definitely qualified to make a judgment on this fantastic machiness. I would say v8 is definitely better than v6 -- more powerful, functional, and better designed. But if you are hesitating between v6 and cleaners from other brands, I would say you should definitely take dyson!

Worth every penny

The convenience of this cordless vacuum is unmatched. ONLY downside is it takes 4-5 hours to fully charge again. But my house is 1500 square feet and I can vacuum it with plenty of juice leftover. (I try to find other things to vacuum or just re-vacuum lol). This is worth every penny!
