Saw this machine for the first time at a friends house. Tried it and fell in love. My wife purchased this for me as a Christmas gift and I must say, it works quite well. I have two Oreck's in my house and thought THOSE we're the bomb. I think the Dyson has them beat!
I know the price is a bit steep but if you can overcome the price tag, it's so well worth it! I hope the battery holds up to multiple charges because I plan on using this quite a bit. I have a 90 pound Lab that sheds like it's his job, so I sweep the floors twice a day.
Very Impressed so far. Can't say enough about the suction on this machine! For as small as it is, this thing really packs a punch when it comes to picking things up.

I use this everyday and love it. My floors have never been so clean. I have three dogs and one cat. It is so convenient and easy to use. I am the spoke person at work on this product :) I wish I would have bought it years ago.

Painful and annoying- I don't understand all the great reviews

I need an easy to use, efficient vacuum cleaner for hard floors. I'm a stay at home mom of a toddler and small dog so I need to make sure the floor is clean for my exploring baby. I have a small space so I felt especially confident in this purchase. The handle is super uncomfortable, it presses against My thumb knuckle and is causing a painful blister. I'm only on day 2 of using it. It doesn't stand upright (I have shark steamer that also lays flat to get under tight spaces but can stand alone) and will roll and fall every time I lean it against something causing the tank to bump open and empty all over the floor. The suction is good..on max, but that leaves an extremely short battery life. It picks up dirt just fine but I have difficulties picking up things like cheerios. I have to go over it several times, for it to pick it up and drop it anyway. I'm so disappointed. Going to be returning.
No, I would not recommend this to a friend.

The Dyson V8 Animal features a direct-drive cleaner head, with gentle carbon fiber bristles safe for any flooring type, but powerful enough to pick up debris from both bare floors and carpets. While the machine will offer less run time in MAX power mode, most households find standard power sufficient for everyday messes. When using your machine in MAX with the direct-drive Motorhead, run time will be approximately 7 minutes. Dyson Animal variants come equipped with a mini motorized head which is designed to pick up pet hair from furniture and stairs. You can also use this tool with the machine in MAX power for optimum pick-up, if you find that standard power is leaving pet hair or other debris behind.

Amazing vacuum!

I bought this a few weeks ago and it has been better than expected. It reaches all the small areas and it is easy to use. It’s light weight and it comes with a wall mounted docking/charging station. Definitely worth purchasing.

Love it - its quieter than the earlier models and so efficient. A must to remove dog hair from our bedroom carpets! Love the improved emptying system as well as the small alternate parts to vacuum e.g. couches and car seats! Excellent product.
