So easy to use!

I purchased the V8 Animal about a week ago and absolutely love it! It is so lightweight, easy to assemble and to change tools. I've given my other vacuums away since this is the only vacuum I will ever need. I just wish I had purchased this sooner!

Almost makes vacuuming fun!

better suction than any vac i have owned in my 60+ years! So easy to use with it being cordless. Wish it came with a 2nd filter since the filter needs to dry for 24 hours, that way you could keep vacuuming while one is drying.
Amazing how much it picks up - it "shames" you!

Amazing for 1 year then everything breaks

Bought this 2 years ago and after 1 year the plastic kept breaking starting with the purple pole, then the wheels, and now the motor back part seal is no longer sealing. Everything has been replaced at cost to me! The last defective part the motor was the last straw I will never buy a Dyson again, it's not worth the money when it dIes after 2 years.
No, I would not recommend this to a friend.

Hi there, this is Kelly with Dyson. We're sorry to hear that you've had so many issues with your Dyson V8. It's rather unusual to hear of all the problems you've had with pieces breaking. Dyson cord-free machines are made from polycarbonate ABS - the same material used in riot shields and crash helmets. They are tough, so we subject them to hours of testing, including drop and impact tests. As you'll see from the video, these machines go through some punishing tests to ensure their durability.
As a general reminder, the 2-year manufacturer limited warranty that we include with our cord-free machines is in effect from the original date of purchase, and covers the vacuum for both parts and labor for manufacturer defects, when used for private household purposes in accordance with the owner manual. However, the warranty does not cover wear/tear damage, cleaning the machine, accidental damage, tools and accessories, or maintenance of the machine which includes filter maintenance and blockage removal.

We love the Dyson V8

We have had a V7 for years, and decided to treat ourselves to a V8. Whoever starts first now gets the V8. We live in the country and have 2 large dogs, boots, and other pets that bring in lots of dust and sand. Low power on the v8 does it all.

Best Vacuum

I did a lot of research on cordless vacuums that would specifically work great for pet hair. One month ago, I decided to purchase the Dyson V8 Animal, and I absolutely love it so far! I use it daily to clean up pet hair and dirt. The power behind this lightweight machine is awesome. It also comes with a lot of really great attachments. My only complaint is that if you use the "Max Suction" setting, the battery only lasts a maximum of 15 minutes. To be able to use the 40 minute run time, you can only have it set at "High Suction", which does the job just fine.

Battery

I’ve had this vacuum for just under 2 years and for the past 2 months the battery has been dying in less than 5 min (on high suction) as soon as I put it on Max suction it dies. It’s an exciting vacuum to use in the beginning but as you have for it a bit the quality goes down very quick and there is barely any warranty.
No, I would not recommend this to a friend.

Lithium-Ion batteries are subject to degradation over time. This is completely normal and occurs with any device that uses this type of battery. Battery degradation is not a fault of the machine. It happens to all batteries in everyday items, such as mobile phones and laptops. Unfortunately, we are unable to advise how long each component will last in each individual's home. I have been using this vacuum daily for the past few months and it has made me a devoted Dyson customer for life! This vacuum is superior to every vacuum I've ever tried! The portability and convenience is my favorite aspect by far. The charging dock was easily mounted to my wall and whenever I need to do quick clean, it simply comes off the charger and is ready to go. It is lightweight and is easily transported upstairs and downstairs. I love the attachments; you can change the length or the attachment for whatever job is needed with a simple click of a button. The bristle brush works amazing for quick dusting and I find myself cleaning more than I ever have because of the convenience. I will never own a corded vacuum again! The suction is powerful, even on the regular setting and for a super powerful clean, it offers a max suction setting when needed. The dirt container is emptied with unbelievable ease by using just a pull of a latch. The vacuum itself glides easily and turns with such ease, making hard to reach places a thing of the past. I can't recommend this vacuum enough; you definitely won't be disappointed. Dyson has proven their ability to produce an innovative and quality vacuum that will make you a loyal customer for life.
