Doesn't pick up hair

We actually bought two of these vacuums, one for the house and one for our store. These vacuums do not pick up dog hair, which is why we chose this model. Granted, we have a Saint Bernard, but dog hair is dog hair. It actually blows the hair away from the vacuum, and if it does somehow make it in, it clogs it right up. Very disappointed.
No, I would not recommend this to a friend.

The machine does feature two modes: powerful suction mode and max mode. The powerful suction mode is ideal for most cleaning tasks, but the max mode is there if you need a temporary boost of power for particularly stubborn messes and tasks.

I bought this vacuum after extensive research. I was in need of a very good vacuum after my orec quit working after 10 years. This vacuum is the best! Cleans like a dream and gets everything so clean. I loved it so much that I also bout the big ball upright vacuum as well! Love them both!!!

Purchased the Dyson V8 Animal two months ago and could not be happier. I was amazed how much dirt it picked up. So light that my 10 year old grandson enjoys using it. Stairways and couch cushions are easy to clean. Am looking forward to try all the implements.

I had a D35 corded and a V7 stick and this is more powerful than both. It's amazing how much power this vacuum has. Works great in my home and car. Like most I wish is had a longer battery life but if it lasted 24 consecutive hours I'd want more. Highly recommend.

I treat myself to this and it's the best thing I did. It makes life so easy. I have carpets and hard floors and there is no changing of equipment and you don't have to plug it in, you just carry on cleaning.

Waited for years to get a deal on one, and finally did. Have a house that’s tile and carpet with area rugs as well, and it picks up everything way better than all my other vacuum’s.

Static Shocks

I bought the V8 Animal a few months ago. Recently I noticed feeling static shocks on the hand I was using to hold the vacuum while cleaning carpets. I looked it up online and was surprised to see hundreds of Google complaints with this issue. I called Dyson directly and they acted like they had never heard about it and said it sounded like static discharge. How can Dyson put out a product which releases static discharge (very uncomfortable) when someone is using it on carpets? I am very dissatisfied with this vacuum and feel very uncomfortable using it. For this price, I do not think it's acceptable to feel shocks while vacuuming!
