Keeps getting clogged

I love the majority of my Dyson products but this product is disappointing. The opening into the canister is too small and constantly gets clogged with dirt and pet hair. When this happens, the vacuum does not suck anymore and starts pulsating. The only way to get it unclogged is to open the canister and use your hand to remove the blockage.
No, I would not recommend this to a friend.

One great feature of our cord-free machines is how modular they are, which makes them fairly simple to troubleshoot and resolve any ongoing issues. With regard to the dust bin, you'll always want to ensure that the bin is emptied before debris is able to fill past the max line on the side. Any time debris is able to fill past this spot, it can wind up getting trapped in the upper portion of the bin. The bin can completely remove, however, for ease of emptying or getting any debris out of the bin completely.

Frustrating - battery life and other issues

two stars instead of one as there are some good features...
1. strong suction
2. good ergonomics - I like the handle
3. Easy to maneuver
Now for the bad...
1. Battery life is substandard. 15 minutes at best before needing recharge
2. Easily clogs which bogs down performance dramatically and makes the engine run erratically
3. Here is the real biggie...the dirt compartment comes open all the time. So, vacuuming along and then look down and realize the work has been wasted as the dirt has flowed from the floor, thru the vacuum hose, into the dirt compartment and then back to the floor again.
It's so frustrating. I think it is appropriate this vacuum is called the Animal+ as its about as frustrating as stepping in animal waste.
Suggestion...engineer this machine so it won't start when the bottom dirt compartment is open....same as when the top part isn't latched in place. Maybe then this company can earn customers faith.

Amazing suction

Just got a Dyson, I thought they were a little pricey compared to others but 83% positive reviews won me over. This little compact machine is truly an animal on dirt and dust.
I would recommend this to a friend!

Excellent vacuum!

I bought this a couple of weeks ago after my other vacuum (not a Dyson) quit working after only having it for 1 year. This is my third Dyson and first cordless vacuum. I'm very impressed with how well it picks up the fur from our 2 cats and 1 dog from carpet and furniture. It works very well on our hardwood floors as well as the tile. It is very easy to swap the attachments and to use to get the cobwebs out of the corners of the ceiling. It fills up fairly quickly, but the dust container is easy to empty. I was skeptical about the length of time for the battery but I am able to vacuum our 3 bedrooms, 2 baths, hallway, living room and kitchen in addition to the basement stairs on one charge.
I would recommend this to a friend!

The mounting screws and molly's did not work. They do NOT work correctly when used in drywall. The screws are Too long.

Works great at first, then battery dies!

When we first got this vacuum I loved it! It did such a great job on our carpet for quick touch ups and messes, but then transitioned right to hard wood and linoleum too. In fact, it did such a great job that I almost stopped using my beloved big vacuum. But now, I’m so disappointed!! The battery doesn’t hold a charge and the vacuum shuts off as soon as it touches the carpet and tries to get suction. At this price, a vacuum should last A LOT longer. Lesson learned and I guess it’s back to the big vacuum...

With regard to the battery life from your V8, Lithium-Ion batteries are subject to degradation over time. This is completely normal and occurs with any device that uses this type of battery. Great cordless vac, but one concern

Great cordless vacuum, probably the best one we have had to date. It is lite, has great accessibility into tight areas and the suction is super. My only concern is the life of the battery. It seems it only last about 20 mins. when we do a detail vacuum job. I have check the charging station and everything seems fine. Please advise.
