I've used this vacuum for years in a house I rented and just bought my own this past year. They withstand the test of time and it's a great product. Leightweight. Easy to use. Smooth. Simple to clean. The motor runs well and the two different modes of power are great. They're fairly low profile which helps with storing. Additionally, allowing the attachments to connect directly to the motor (without needing the full extension) makes it a great tool to clean my car too - yay cordless! I LOVE this product and use it frequently. However, I did deduct a star because I also have a Kirby vacuum which I switch to for heavy duty jobs, like shampooing carpets. Dyson - can you make an attachment for that? Please?

Finally

Finally a vacuum that's not to heavy for me to use. Finally able to do my own vacuuming again. Finally feel I am getting the cat hair and dander under control. Finally a vacuum that's so easy to empty. Finally a vacuum that takes up so little space. Finally a vacuum not attached to a cord, so it moves from room to room freely.

great once missing part was sent in

Out of the box the vac went into overload after a few minutes of use. I sent time on the phone and they sent me a replacement cyclone. When I got it I noticed the unit was missing an important part. The new cyclone work perfectly. How this left the factory without the critical part is not what I expect from Dyson.

Keeps turning off

Ever since we bought this cordless vaccum keeps turning off while using. Does not last longer than 2 minutes even though it is fully charged. Frustrating everytime I vacuum because can never get done at once.
No, I would not recommend this to a friend.

Very hard to empty

This is the second Dyson Vac for us. The battery died in the first. We upgraded to the V 8 thinking it would be better. It has more power but to dump out the bowl is terrible. It is very hard to open to empty the bowl. Will look somewhere else next time. This is just a terrible design.

The latch to open the dust bin door does need to be pulled up, rather sharply (especially the first few uses). The door or latch can become jammed, if the door is closed before the cyclone is pushed back down into the machine. My lite weight

My husband bought this for me. As a senior I love the light weight and it does a super job picking up hair that accumulates from our golden retriever. We have mostly bare wood floors with a couple of scatter rugs and it does a great job for me. Only con is having to keep my finger on the switch to keep it running.

I got this as a gift from my daughter. She has an older model that I used at her house. Mine is even better. We have an old cat and need to clean everyday. It is easy and quick to do the clean up.
