I love everything about this vacuum except the fact that you have to hold the trigger when using! Would much prefer an on/off switch.

Wow.....Dyson does it...AGAIN !!!!!!!!!! This cordless vacuum has more power than any upright I've ever used. Previously saw a demonstration and after some research and reading reviews, I knew it was time to buy!! The suction is incredible, and can handle any mess you throw its way. I have 2 kids, and 2 cats, so pet hair and crumbs have always been a challenge, until now!! The tools make it easy to clean every crack and crevice in your home, and you will find yourself cleaning areas that you have previously bypassed or maybe just hit during spring cleaning. It does a great job on area rugs, hardwood, tile, and carpet. The run time is more than enough to complete the task, the unit is lightweight, and versatile. I even grabbed it on my way to school to do a quick cleaning of my SUV while waiting to pick up the kids from school, and tossed it back on the docking station on my way back in to make sure it was ready for the next mess that came along. I own other Dyson products, and this is another great product that lives up to the expectation that Dyson is known for!! I love my V8, and the ease of using it!!

Constantly amazed

I own two high end corded HEPA vacuum cleaners, neither one of them cleans as easily or completely as the V8. I hated vacuuming, period. Now with the V8 it's not a big deal to just grap it off the wall and go to work. I've cleaned a 3 bedroom house and still had half the battery remaining. This thing picks up everything, paperclips, stapples, you name it and it's gone. It's exceptionally light, easy to use and very easy to empty. I bought the V8 when it first came out and worried about the cost but after using it for several months I think it's worth the expense.

Need manual!

I love the vacuum cleaner but am completely puzzled by the nonverbal "instructions." I can't be the only person who finds this very difficult. And what are the different accessory tools for? OK, I recognize crevice tool and brush, but not the others. And some advice about which tool to use for what would be really helpful.

I bought this to go along with an upright Dyson I have,for quick clean-ups,and I love it. Suction is great,stairs are much easier to clean,and the versatility of being able to break it down as a hand vac means no more running up and down the stairs to grab the other hand vac,which is nowhere near as powerful. Only downside for me is not knowing where to put the docking station yet,but that's a personal problem and in no way detracts from my joy at having this.

GET IT, GET IT, GET IT. I WOULD NOT WANT TO BE WITHOUT IT. LIFE IS A LOT EASIER USING ONE OF THESE. WELL WORTH IT. ALSO THE ATTACHMENTS ARE PERFECT.

Meets all expectations

We got this in March, and have used it for carpet, laminate and tile floors. It has great suction, is easy for an aged person (active 70 year old) to handle, and is easy to empty. The attachments are effective and we are amazed at how much fine dirt it removes. We found that using it on its regular suction does a fine job, even with dog hair, so it will vacuum our 2 story house on one charge. It runs down a bit faster if you use the 'Max' setting, but still gets a lot done. Worth every penny. We bought ours refurbished.
