I received the V8 Absolute for Christmas.
This vacuum so easy to use, I get it out everyday! We recently put in new laminate flooring throughout our home. Now, if I see a speck on the floor I grab the V8!
Love, Love, Love this little vacuum!!

I received my Dyson v8 Absolute last week, and I can tell you it is the absolute in portable cord-free vacuum cleaners. This is not my first Dyson product; I also own the Dyson upright vacuum cleaner; the AM 09 portable fan/heater and the first Dyson portable vacuum cleaner.
The new Dyson v8 Absolute does a wonderful job. I was so afraid that I would be unable to use it on the area rugs that I have due to the extra power and suction, but it vacuums them beautifully.
My home also has hardwood floors, and I am thrilled with the new Dyson attachment with the soft covered roller head that allows me to vacuum the hardwood without the worry of putting scratches on the hardwood or ceramic tile floors.
It is so easy to empty with just the flip of a button. I particularly like how the inside filter raises up to easily clean when emptying the bin.
The attachments detach so easily, and I am eager to clean my car with this machine.
If you are thinking of buying a new vacuum cleaner, I heartily recommend this one. You will not regret it; it makes life so much easier.

Love Dyson designs. Super easy to use. Great cleaner. Only disappointments where to store additional tools and the trigger you must continuously press to use.

I really love the vacuum. Be smart and get this one! Does the same job as upgraded models. The only thing my V8 absolute "Iron" came in simple black box, unlike other videos of unboxing I've seen (which I don't care really). Bottom motorized attachments differ, no rotating slim brush (rubber "wiper" instead) . Not a big deal again, just confusing. NOW, the BIG deal is about the battery life! Dyson website promises charging time 3.5 hours for V8, when mine took almost 5 hours to charge. !?!?!?

WORST VACUUM EVER!!!

THIS IS THE WORST VACUUM WE HAVE EVER OWNED. DOESN'T EVEN PICK UP LIGHT DUST AND DIRT FROM OUR HARDWOOD FLOORS!! BATTERY LIFE DOES NOT MEET THE PRODUCT INFO. GET MAYBE 5 MINUTES WHEN USING THE MAX SETTING SINCE THAT IS THE ONLY SETTING THAT WILL PICK UP ANYTHING! NOW IT PULSATES WHEN I AM VACUUMING ON REGULAR SETTING AND THEN DIES!! NOT WORTH WHAT WE PAID FOR IT!
No, I would not recommend this to a friend.

The Dyson V8 Absolute features a direct-drive cleaner head, with gentle carbon fiber bristles safe for any flooring type, but powerful enough to pick up debris from both bare floors and carpets. While the machine will offer less run time in MAX power mode, most households find standard power sufficient for everyday messes. When using your machine in MAX with the direct-drive Motorhead, run time will be approximately 7 minutes. Dyson Absolute variants also come equipped with a mini motorized head which is designed to pick up pet hair from furniture and stairs. You can also use this tool with the machine in MAX power for optimum pick-up, if you find that standard power is leaving pet hair behind.
