Scratches hardwood

Scratched my brand new hardwood floors in my brand new house. It doesn’t matter if it’s on low or max suction, it scratched the floor in deep noticeable gashes. If you have faux hardwood or carpet this is fine but we are so upset at the damage done to our floors.

More headache than it's worth

The cordless feature seems great and convenient in theory. However, this vacuum has a feature that forces a shut off if there is anything obstructing or clogging any of the suction. Unfortunately, this sensor is extrememly over sensitive and the tiniest of items will cause this auto shut off feature to happen (flecks of leaves, several dog hairs, nothing at all, etc). I find that this auto shut off feature happens every single time I use the vacuum and I then have to completely unassembled the thing to find whatever tiny thing is causing it. Sometimes it is nothing at all. The task of doing this every time I use this vacuum is far more headache and time consuming than just using a normal, corded vacuum. Currently, Ive spent the past 30 minutes trying to find the source of the problem for the current vacuum. No avail. Perhaps I have a faulty sensor in mine, but it's so bad that I don't even want to use the vacuum anymore. Sweeping with a broom is easier and faster at this point. I would never buy this item again.

Game Changer!

First time I used the Dyson V8 Absolute it was a game changer when it came to vacuuming. Quiet, maneuverability, and great suction.
Anyone who has hardwood floors and rugs get this, you won't regret it!.

Don't know how I have lived almost 60 years without this vacuum! No more dragging out the corded vacuum and moving the plug multiple times! This vacuum is so versatile, there is an attachment for every need! At first I didn't think the battery life was long enough, but I was using maximum suction! If you use the lower suction, it does an excellent job and lasts plenty long! We have 2 small dogs that both shed, I use it daily! There are attachments to use on the couch, bed, ceiling fans, floor boards, I even use it to dust! Couldn't be happier with this purchase! Our house is so much cleaner now that we have a Dyson V8 absolute!

Improved Design

We had an earlier model but the V8 has superior power and much improved attachments. Having discrete floor and carpet powered heads makes cleaning a snap.

Poor design

The V8 vacuums great! Emptying the canister is very difficult though. The design to empty the canister is a very poor design. The canister either doesn't try to open or sticks most times. It is very frustrating. I expected a higher quality product.

Just used my dyson this morning could not believe how much dust was in the cup. I had central vac and had thought it did a going job,I I needed a vacuum that was cordless and light, so happy with my dyson.
