Most expensive dust buster you’ll ever waste money on.

if you want glorified dust buster this is your machine. However, if you need a real vacuum cleaner then give this one a miss
Pros:
1. Convenient to use and easy to empty.
Cons:
1. Terrible battery life. Low power isn’t enough and high power will barely get you through two small rooms, so unless you want to clean your house in 20 installments, it is really irritating, especially considering the price.
2. The roller attachment doesn’t pull dirt into the vacuum, but flings it back across your feet, so you can only vacuum forward, and will have to make several passes over the floor to get everything up.
3. Price. Freaking expensive. For this amount of money you would expect much more.
4. When using the short pole for tight spaces it blows so much air out the top that it just scatters the dust you are trying to clean up.
The idea is great, but you’ll need another vacuum cleaner to fill in, not ideal if you have limited space. I can only think the people who gave this five stars either have a maid to clean for them, or have several vacuum cleaners and use this one for small spills. But then why not just get a cheap dust buster...?
Not worth it!

Hello there, this is Kelly with Dyson. Thank you for your review. I am happy to hear that you have found your Dyson V8 Absolute so convenient to use, and easy to empty, thus far in your use. The V8 Absolute does feature two cleanerheads; a direct drive head with spinning brush bar - which is a great multi-floor tool, and our soft roller head, which was designed to be used on your hard floors. The soft woven nylon and anti-static carbon fibers make this the ideal tool for picking up finer dirt and dust from bare floor surfaces.
Dyson V8 vacuums have a run time of up to 40 minutes, when used in standard power mode. On MAX power, run time will be shorter due to the added boost of suction power. You should find that suction in standard power mode is sufficient for most tasks, while MAX is better suited for tough cleaning jobs. You may be interested to know that the new Dyson Cyclone V10 models have an advertised run time of up to 60 minutes, which is our longest run time to date.
We would like to ensure that your vacuum is performing as intended. Please feel free to reach out to askdysonUS@dyson.com. We are always keen on providing support.
Best wishes, Kelly Dyson Customer Support

Came covered in fine dust

I received mine, and many parts were covered in a fine dust. I asked support if I received a used one. They assured me it is new and it is just dust from factory.
I humbly suggested they vacuum their warehouse. The second rep claimed it is fine talc powder used during fitting.
Regardless. Dyson, please clean your parts before packaging them, this is disgusting.

Hello there, this is Kelly with Dyson. Thank you for taking the time to share your review I can confirm that it is normal to see fine powder in your bin or on the machine. Talc was used in production for the fitting of seals. Further application of talc will not be required. However, it is visible in new machines. Sealed products are brand new and have not been resold as conditioned machines. We would value the opportunity to learn more regarding your experience as we are committed to customer satisfaction. Please feel free to email us at askdysonUS@dyson.com. It will be our pleasure to provide support.

Love it !

I was concerned it would be heavy and difficult to handle; no problem at all. Lightweight, powerful, easy to clean and I love the cordless feature. I also noticed that it took way less time than lugging around my upright, which still works well but no comparison when you consider the ease of use for this model.

I purchased this vacuum a couple weeks ago and it is great! It easily maneuvers through the house between rugs and hardwood floors. I love it and being cordless you don’t have to stop after every room to unplug it, it saves time.

The perfect portable Vacuum

We have an electrolux Aerus Canister that we use for heavy duty stuff, but for daily use in and around the house, the V8 is the perfect compliment to a clean home.
Keep in mind we started from the V6 prior to this V8. Some things to note are the heftier handle weight - but we found that was mitigated by the way the "head" articulates side to side on the V8. The V6 felt like there was more control, but noticeably cleans not as well.
The extended battery life is VERY welcome on the V8 and also the way process to clean out the canister and the top filter is greatly simplified. Overall, if you have owned a V6 before, the V8 is a must have upgrade,
For those that are skeptical, we ONLY bust out the Electrolux Aerus for big cleaning days, the V8 on high does an equal job but sometimes you just need a canister vacuum (especially over carpets).
Oh yeah, the V8's hardwood head is perfect (coming from a yellow lab owner) -

Loses charge quickly!

I've had a Dyson in the past and it worked great and lasted 10 years, so when I bought this Dyson, I felt confident in spending the money, however, I can only vacuum my living room and it's battery dies. It then takes a few hours to recharge, so it takes a whole day until I can get my entire house vacuumed. I do use the power button, which I realize takes more power out of the battery, but I feel I need to this to get up the dog hair, this feature just works better. So although it works well at getting up dirt and dog hair, it's frustrating not being able to vacuum my entire house all at once. I would never and will never buy a charged vacuum cleaner again unless maybe it comes with extra battery packs.

It's versatile, durable and you honestly couldn't ask for more! The benefits of able to switch vacuum heads quickly and switch from carpet to hardwood and everything in between are incalculable.
The only complaint I have is that I am an idiot for not buying this machine sooner. Best vacuum I've ever owned. Between my hardwood floors, carpeting, carpets, dusting and car, the easily interchangeable attachments make it so easy to handle all these tasks. I can't believe how much dust and debris collect in the container bin so quickly. Makes me wonder what my old machine and dust cloth were missing. But no issues, emptying the bin takes seconds, then I'm back up and running.
