Powerful Vacuum

Bought my animal V8 cordless stick vacuum about a week ago. My house keeper was the first one to use it and even though she brags about another brand she has, I think she was quite impressed with my Dyson V8. She swept rugs, floors, and carpet and never ran out of power. I am not sure if she tried dusting with it but I did use it on my curio cabinet with the soft dust brush and thought it did great. The dust was not flying around in the cabinet which is the problem I had when I dusted with a soft rag or duster. My house keeper and I were especially impressed on how well it swept the area rugs without sucking them up into the roller. (did I mention I have 3 dogs and a cat)? So this little machine had it's work cut out for it and passed with flying colors. It also runs along time on one charge. The only fault I have is I wish the turn on button could be put in a hold position without me having to hold it on. Something to work on Mr. Dyson. I definitely would recommend this vacuum.

I have two german shepherds and this vacuum makes cleaning the hair and other dirt they bring into the house so effortless! My floors look so much more cleaner ever since I started using this vacuum, Im even able to vacuum the hair off of my couch! The only reason I didn’t give it 5 stars is because of the battery life. I wouldn’t say the vacuum gives 40 minutes, like advertised. It’s more like 15-20 minutes depending on the suction power. Overall, I would recommend this to everyone!

Perfect for what we needed

Who would have thought vacuuming would be addictive? Suction and attachments exceeded expectations. Liked the pop-down dust lid (and wall mount) of the smaller ones better ... but I understand they were trying to make it easier for the dirt to fall out. Run time on max with the power roller attachment is only about 7 to 10 minutes ... but that's just fine. I got this for the car, odd places to get to, and to have handy just in case. And uh, after the maids think they are done. When I get over the "new toy" feel, maybe I can use normal power mode. Thank you again, Dyson. Vvrooooom on Max Power!

Great vacuum!

I don't know why I waited so long to purchase a Dyson. This is the best vacuum I have owned by far-- the suction is great. It's amazing how much dirt and other stuff it picks up from a carpet that looks 'clean', as well as from solid floors (tile and wood). It is nice that there is a softer attachment for wood floors as well as the regular attachment for carpet. It is easy to use and easy to dump what it picked up. Love it!

The Dyson V8 Absolute Iron is truly amazing! I can't get over just how much dog hair and dander is picked up each and every time I use it...which is daily.
I have herniated disks in my neck and lower back, so having a cordless vacuum that is lightweight (yet has the cleaning power of an upright) is truly appreciated. Changing attachments is easy, as is switching over from a stick to a handheld. Emptying the bin, or even removing the filters for rinsing is a breeze as well.
I read where one reviewer complained that it took up too much space...which isn't true. You don't have to mount it high on a wall or behind a door to accommodate the long wand in order swing it in or out of its charger. Just remove the wand attachment, therefore allowing you to mount the charger even in a small area (near an outlet of course), as you're only charging the handheld part anyway.
