They do not hold power.

They do not hold charge for long. Bought two, one for each apt. And have had the same experience. After recharging they quickly lose power.
No, I would not recommend this to a friend.

Hi, this is Kelly with Dyson. I'm sorry to hear you're having some run time or battery life issues with your V8 Absolute's. Your vacuum will come with standard and Max power modes. Our cordless models also have a run-time enhancing light touch trigger which ensures battery power is only used when the trigger is pushed. In Max power run time will be up to 7 minutes, and in standard power, you can expect run times of up to 30-40 minutes depending on which tool or attachments you are using. Having a shorter run time does sound unusual, and we'd value the opportunity to go over your machine with you.

This vacuum is so easy to use! The attachments are amazing and effortless to pop on and off for different areas in my home. It is lightweight and comfortable to carry. It makes cleaning so much easier! I am thrilled with this product!

We had previously bought the Dyson V6 Absolute. We had several problems with it and complained to Dyson. Since that model was in production anymore they replaced it with the V8 model. So far this machine has been excellent. Also, Dyson handling of the V6 problem was great. We own a larger canister model Dyson, and that machine has been awesome. Thanks Dyson for you products and customer support.

I am very pleased with the Absolute. The assortment of attachments included makes it very versatile. The motorized carpet head cleans very well. The usage time on a charge is very good and it's easy to empty.
I would recommend this to a friend!

We bought this cordless vacuum for quick clean ups to use in addition to our full size corded Dyson. I am amazed at the power of this vacuum. Like all Dyson vacuums, it's easy to clean and snap back together. I've not used it for more than 10-15 minutes yet, but so far, the battery has lasted while I vacuumed. I also love the way this attaches to the wall. So easy to remove from the charger, use, and place back in the charger.

cleaning multiple hard wood floors and rugs with ease. no problems with battery charge or reliability so far. would never go back to corded devices
