We're Impressed!

We recently moved and our new home has lots of hardwood floors and the carpet is either textured Berber, woven rattan/jute, or standard carpet with black accents. Add our dog Henry to the mix and we needed a new vacuum solution. We loved our last upright Dyson, but with a 2 story home I wanted easier portability. The V8 Absolute seemed to fit the bill, but when I read the rave reviews from pet owners, I felt it was going to meet all of our needs. We're impressed! Gone is the dusty dullness of black in the carpets and dog hair clinging to carpet fibers. Hardwood floor cleaning is a snap. Love the tool for the stair runner and other tools I use for baseboard and crevice cleanup. We're normally running on regular power but love the max setting for stubborn jute area rugs. The collection canister feels smallish but I've quickly adjusted to emptying it a bit more often. All in all, a real winning combination!

We love the new Dyson V8. The power is excellent and the ability to clean the filters is a big step up. We were particularly impressed with the attachments that come with the V8, the tool for cleaning bare floors is excellent. Coming in second is the power head for cleaning furniture. Well done!

I have only had my vacuum one week, but so far I am very pleased. It has great suction and is quite versatile. I used to clean my two cars, including dirty cargo areas. The battery died just as I was finishing.

light easy to handle

I just bought it , but I am still learning to use it. I did not realize it does not go for hours as a miele vacuum with the cord. The only thing I do not like bout it is the fact that you constantly have to push the "trigger" and my finger gets sore and tired.
other than that SO FAR I LOVE IT

Didn’t know what I was missing!

I researched so much in the past before buying a stick vacuum and didn’t want to spend the money on a dyson. After a year and my past one failing I finally got the V8 absolute and it’s phenomenal. I didn’t know what I was missing with the power, battery life and even quieter. Doesn’t even scare my cat. Love it and I feel it will last many years.

The cleaning strength of this little jewel is comparable to my built-in central vacuum - and so much easier to use! My floors are not only clean, they look like they have been polished! I will be able to use this for deep cleaning rather than just quick pick-up.

Dyson V8 cordless vacuum

Product once fully charges, only last 15 minutes, Not a reliable cordless vacuum, although it’s powerful, still, time is useless in cleaning a room. Not at all satisfied with the price paid. Also, it does not come with a cord as an option.
No, I would not recommend this to a friend.

Hello Rose, this is Kelly with Dyson. We're sorry to hear that you've found the V8 Absolute cord-free vacuum to be unreliable in your use. We can confirm that none of our cordless machines come with a cord long enough to use, while charging. Further, the machines are designed to not run while charging as well. Your vacuum will come with standard and Max power modes. Our cordless models also have a run-time enhancing light touch trigger which ensures battery power is only used when the trigger is pushed. In Max power run time will be up to 7 minutes, and in standard power, you can expect run times of up to 30-40 minutes depending on which tool or attachments you are using. Having a shorter run time does sound unusual, and we'd value the opportunity to go over your machine with you. Please feel free to reach out to us directly at askdysonus@dyson.com.
