Great portable vacuum

Cleans wonderfully, light, quiet, battery lasts more than long enough to make it all the way through my entire house.

I am a senior citizen and I have had this vacuum for seven months, used mostly for floors. I has never picked up very well on low power and I high power the battery only lasts about 5 minutes. It will not vacuum the one carpet in the bedroom, not enough power and very hard to push-pull across the carpet.
Very disappointed in this Dyson product and would not recommend it, especially for seniors or any larger home. Too Expensive for the lack of performance
No, I would not recommend this to a friend.

Your vacuum, while smaller, lightweight and cordless, can still pack the same power as a corded vacuum cleaner. This will all be thanks to the powerful V8 motor which spins at 110,000rpm, providing you with powerful suction, making our cordless machines the most powerful cordless vacuums. Dyson V8 Absolute also includes a direct drive motorized brush bar, which is designed to provide up to 150% more brush bar power than the Dyson V6 cord free vacuum. You also have the fluffy soft roller head with your model, which has been specifically engineered for picking up dirt and debris from your bare floors.
You will get roughly 7 minutes of run time while utilizing MAX suction mode on your V8. This is because the battery works harder to provide that boost of suction and run the motor harder to offer the necessary power. MAX mode is great for larger debris or more stubborn messes, and we wouldn't expect that this mode is necessary for everyday messes. You should find the suction provided in regular mode sufficient for normal household cleaning.

We have had this vacuum for almost a week now. I can honestly say I have used it every day. I love all the attachments that came with it, I have used every single one of them. The V8 works in every part of our house. I have used it on hardwood floors, linoleum, tile, furniture (that dog sleeps on), under beds, wooden blinds, and on and on. I have even dusted with the soft bristle attachment. I am very sensitive to dust and usually sneeze when dusting, so far no sneezing! This vacuum is so light weight our kids even love using it.

I didn't feel I could afford a Dyson, but should have done it sooner! I love this vacuum for ease to use, lightweight, and suction. I'm learning to use accessories. Just buy it!

I'm a HUGE fan of the cordless vacuum cleaners from Dyson. I had a V6 Absolute for a good 3 years and it was dying on me. The battery was not charging properly anymore. With the V8 and longer battery life, i can clean my 700 sq ft apartment easily at max power without having to charge it. With my cat and my long hair.. this machine makes a cake out of all that fur, hair and dust. Let's just say it's satisfying when you empty the bin. The fluffy head is also very smooth on the floor and seems a lot softer than the V6. Highly recommended!

Light and powerful

All the different attachments are easy to change. The vacuum is light and cleans very well. When removing cat fur from furniture, sometimes we need to put it in power mode, which makes short work of removing it. We expected that we would like this vacuum as we have a full size Dyson vacuum that worked so much better than any other vacuum we have had. We were not disappointed with the portable Dyson V8. Nothing beats a Dyson.

Lightweight and easy to use. Also cleans very well.
I have difficulty removing the filter on top of the motor...old arthritic fingers. I won't give up trying to remove it to clean it.
