Handy and efficient

I bought to clean up messes from my kids easily and we are getting a dog next month. So I can only speak to how it works with crumbs, dust and normal household debris. I already own an upright Dyson so knew I was buying a reliable brand as ours is 8 years old and still runs great. So after many uses of the V8 animal cord free I absolutely love it! I can easily clean up messes and the suction is perfect along with great run time. I mostly have hardwood throughout with some carpet in bedrooms and it works great on those surfaces. The only area it seems to not work great is on a braided jute rug I have under the kitchen breakfast table. It seems to snag when pulling it back and forth. The plastic is not rounded underneath the head and it snags the braids. Otherwise works great on wool rugs. I debated going with an another brand but glad I didn't waste the money. This vacuum helps me out so much!! A total winner! *Note I wish the trigger had a locking option so I don't get finger cramp from holding down the trigger the entire time to vacuum!

It has not worked right since I purchased it. The main body was replaced by Dyson and now I am awaiting a battery replacement. It will not suck for more than 30 seconds on Max. Disappointed overall!

WOW!! I thought our house was clean until I used this vacuum!! It was fabulous in every way!! It is light, powerful, easy to use and easy to empty. It lasted our entire cleanup and amazed me how much gunk it picked up in the short amount of time it took to clean!! We love to do quick hits at our house instead of long drawn out cleanings so it fits our style perfectly!!
I saw some of the other reviews complaining about holding the trigger down to keep the vacuum running - my fingers are strong and I did not find this distracting from this amazing machine!!
I cannot say enough great things about this fabulous creation!! Thank you Dyson!!

This is an absolutely excellent tool that attempts to replace the everyday usefulness of a broom and dustpan without needing the bulky composition of a standard vacuum and succeeds rather well!
Cats, ferrets, kids and adults with long hair creates something of a varied and evolving playing field for messes to clean up and this vacuum not only shines on every front, it makes even tedious cleaning rather simple.
The power of such a small unit is rather impressive. The only time I ever switch it to "Max" is when I'm more or less playing around rather than for needing it to pick up any particular kind of debris.
The battery life is probably the main thing I was worried about since it was the defining factor of whether or not we would purchase the cordless model. I can honestly say it lasts longer than my motivation for vacuuming, and while doing the whole house in one go will generally run it down pretty low, it doesn't gradually decrease it's performance - it's consistent until it completely cuts off.
All in all - impressive and very good at being a vacuum.

I like the V8 much better for it's suction and less noise. The bin has a notch in the front bottom inside which keeps the dust building up in that place. It wont allow the dirt to circulate and fill up beyond the notch to the fill line so I have to empty it every 5 to 10 minutes. I don't think it has to be there for any reason unless for the hinge so I wish they would change this. Very important to me.

Never thought I could be in love with a Vacuum

Not only is it sleek and easy to use, its easy to put together and so lightweight my kids actually enjoy vacuuming! I enjoy it myself! I have had back surgery and it's really hard for me to be able to push and pull for a long time. This makes it so much easier for me! I can actually do my stairs with no issue! Even though it's battery-powered it lasts a long time! You can switch the settings and it will last even longer! It is also super easy to clean the filter. One pull and it empties our into the garbage and you are done! It comes with the attachment so you can reach your ceilings and get all that dust and webs that form. I honestly cannot believe I waited so long for one of these. I highly recommend it to anyone who vacuums!

[This review was collected as part of a promotion.] The Dyson V8 Motorhead Origin Vacuum is lightweight and powerful! I was very impressed at the suction of this vacuum. It was easy to put together and comes with three main parts to assemble. Each part clicks easily together and with a push of a button can be taken apart. It only takes a short amount of time to charge the vacuum completely. There are two modes of power, max mode and powerful. I prefer to use the vacuum in the powerful mode, as the charge will last longer, and I am able to finish my entire house. If I need to use max mode the charge only lasts about 7 to 10 minutes, but is very powerful. There are two different attachments that I can use. A brush to use for upholstery or smaller areas or the longer Motorhead attachment to use on carpet or hard flooring. The head swivels which makes it easy to move in all different directions while I am cleaning. I really like that this system is bag-less and with a pull of a button, I can empty the debris from the bin without ever getting my hands dirty. The filters are washable and it is recommended that this is done monthly. I also like that this system is cordless and can easily be transported from room to room and even up my stairs. This system comes with a mounting dock that was easy to install. I like how all of the parts clip into their places and the system can charge while it is being stored. It is always ready to use this way. Overall, I really like the Dyson V8 Motorhead Origin Vacuum Cleaner and how well it cleans. It is so lightweight and easy to carry up and down my stairs.

[This review was collected as part of a promotion.] I am thoroughly impressed with this vacuum. It is lightweight, very versatile and the battery last long enough to clean the whole house! First charge took about 45 minutes, but now it takes about 15 minutes to be fully charged after each use. It comes with a wall mount that is very cool, you can charge it while its mounted and it holds the attachments on it as well. I'm very amazed by the suction on the vacuum. I've always had issues trying to get the dog hair off of my furniture, but using the floor attachment without the extender attached has worked amazingly well. You can feel how powerful the suction is on this, and it also has a max suction option as well for a short burst if more power. One thing I absolutely love is that hair doesn't get wrapped up in the floor roll on the vacuum. I have never had a vacuum that this didn't happen on. Everything comes apart and goes back togather with a single click, so adding or removing attachments and cleaning the filters is very easy. It's also very easy to empty the canister, and with just a tap everything falls out. For such a small vacuum, this one has far surpassed every other one I've ever owned.
