Love it!

This is our first cordless vac and we wish we had bought one sooner. Our new Dyson V8 is awesome. It is very easy to use and cleans great. We seem to be doing a lot more vacuuming lately.
I would recommend this to a friend!

Not impressed!

Just bought this and we charged it fully and it died after 5 minutes!!!?? It does not work on any ruggables. The tools it came with do not work on any upholstery to catch dog hair. The tools that they gave me are like soft brush end tools that no one can use on couches.
No, I would not recommend this to a friend.

The V8 has two suction modes: powerful suction mode and max mode. The machine is usually set to max mode out the box. The powerful suction modes provides up to 40 minutes of run time and is ideal for the majority of cleaning tasks. The max mode is designed to be a temporary boost of power for particularly stubborn messes, and provides up to 8 minutes of total run time. The powerful suction mode is designed to be the primary mode used.
The mini motorized tool is an awesome tool designed for upholstery, and can be used with both powerful suction mode, and max mode as needed.

Battery stinks

For what this vacuum costs you would the think the battery would last longer than a hot second. It’s so irritating to only get about 10 minutes on a fully charged battery. I would never have purchased it if I had known.

Versatile vacuum, especially for hard floors!

I recently installed hard floors throughout my house, replacing carpeting. I wanted a vacuum that would be easy to use, that woudn't scratch my new floors and would stand up to 2-indoor cats. This vacuum is perfect in everyway. It is specially made for hard floors with a dedicated soft roller brush that won't scratch. The suction is amazing and the run time so far has been as advertised. I bought it primarily for interim cleaning, but now use it exclusively. The best part? It's totally versatile with a separate roller brush for carpeting, a wide assortment of tools and it converts to a hand-held vacuum for stairs that are carpeting, my car, etc. Plus, a nice tote to hold all the components. I've never been excited about a vacuum in my life, but I am telling everyone about this. It's perfect and does a great job. I use it every day. Thanks for a great product!

I bought this on recommendation and have used it once and so far I think it will change my life. It is a bit heavy or top heavy but I might get used to it. BUT, I did not receive a product for free to facilitate writing a review as it stated .

Best I've ever owned!

This is the best vac I have ever owned.I have 2 small children and the house is constantly in some kind of mess. This makes clean up a joy. I almost look for excuses to pull out this machine. I LOVE it!!!

Gets up lots of cat hair, FAST!

Easy to use. Trigger is less stressing on the finger than earlier model we had. Wish Dyson had explained the purpose for the various tools. The bin is a little harder to open initially, but it does a great job of letting out all the hair and dust and I never have dirty fingers/hands.

Great Battery Life

This model is an upgrade from a previous cordless Dyson we inherited a few years back and finally bit the dust. This model has a much longer battery life and plenty of attachments to handle most situations. Only thing I wish the vacuum had is LED lights on the front to see dirty areas easier.
