Fantastic upgrades with this Cordless Vacuum

Super powerful - this has as much or more power than my corded Dyson multi-floor Dyson. The smooth floor attachment works wonderfully on my wood and slate floors. It easily picks up even small paper chips and all the dust/dirt - makes cleaning so easy. The carpet attachment cleans the carpet very well. I love the extended time the machine works on each charge - up to 40 min. This is a big improvement from my older cordless vacuums. Comes with 5 attachments that easily change out. I cleaned my bathroom fan vent without having to pull out a step stool - just pointed the vacuum upwards and easily reached the ceiling. Initially I was a tad disappointed that I could not use the same charging attachment from my older cordless vacuums - it is a bit larger so needs its own. After I realized how powerful it was, I realized the size was necessary. Even though it is larger, it is still very light and easy to maneuver. To empty the "dirt collector" is a bit different than the older models. I like it better as the bottom will not accidentally open (occasionally happens with my old cordless vacs). The new process is easy and effective. Another improvement has 3 lights to indicate charge level. I know exactly when it is fully charged and can check to make sure I have enough charge to do the job I'm about to do. I have carpet on my stairs - did a great job cleaning the stairs. In the past I had to use a corded vac on the stairs - which was cumbersome. Using a cordless vac on stairs results in more frequent cleaning! Removing the long pole, the attachments click in to make a short vac. Even my young grandchildren (3 & 5 y.o.) enjoyed vacuuming using the shortened vacuum. I may not need to use my corded vacuums at all with this powerful gem. I highly recommend this powerful machine.

Light and very fast!

I have this vac for about one week! It is really fast, light, and easy to use. It is effective on carpets and bare floors! Wonderful attachments. It is able to clean areas I was not able to get to before. Great on steps! I no longer need to lug a heavy machine upstairs!

Ordering, customer service, design, support... and then using it... light years ahead of anything else. You get what you pay for. The wall mount itself is a revelation. My only regret is this one doesn't have the locked on switch. It does get tiring on older index fingers...

Not good for pet hair

This is my second Dyson cordless vac. The other was a v6. The V6 was much better with pet hair. The V8 gets clogged very easy where in goes into the canister area. Opening to empty the dirt out is not the easiest, I end up with dirt everywhere from pulling and pushing the lever to get it to open. It does pick up very fine dust well but I think I scatter it in the air while trying to open to empt.
No, I would not recommend this to a friend.

Hello Cindy, this is Kelly with Dyson. We're sorry to hear that in your use, you have found that your V8 isn't living up to the same performance of your previous V6 model. Our V8 cord-free machines offer more suction, longer run time, and have a more powerful motor in the brush bar that our older machines. The clear dust bin can get clogged with dirt and debris, if you allow that to fill past the max fill line indicated on the side of the bin. In this instance, the debris in the bin can wind up gathering in the upper portion of the bin, around the cyclone, which does make it more difficult to empty.

Fantastic Christmas Gift

My children bought me this Dyson for Christmas and I Love, Love, Love It! I have hardwood floors and two cats and couldn't keep up with the litter trail and the fur everywhere. Now, no more litter or fur problem! Clean floors and a happy Cat Mom! This machine is so light weight, cordless, easy to use and picks up everything fast and smooth! Wish I had asked for this years ago! Best gift ever!!!!

Dyson V 8 Pro Model

This is the 4th Dyson that I have purchased, not counting the one I bought my daughter.
They are SO EASY to operate and hold. The fact that it is cordless is a must! They keep making improvements, so that is why I have had 4! I have a V 10 which has marvelous suction, but i still picked up fur and fine powdery dust that I was not expecting AFTER I used the V 10!

LOVE IT LOVE IT LOVE IT! So easy to use and it works amazingly! Strong suction - I use the max setting for higher pile carpet and it works great! I love all the attachments, too - I can use this for almost anything!
