Great features but short on stamina

A huge improvement over my heavy canister that uses expensive bags. Easy to use, maneuver, cleans thoroughly, and makes vacuuming so easy. However, claims of a 40 minute charge only work for non-powered tools. Can't get much carpet done in 7 minutes. This wonderful appliance would be so much more useful and practical if it had an easily swapable battery or a cord option.

I have just bought a Dyson V8 - what a fantastic machine you just wont believe how much dust it picks up - easy to use - no cord - what a pleasure. It would be nice if we could have the option to buy another battery and have an interchangeable battery pack.

My mom has been looking at a dyson for years but has always been hesitant because of the price. This vacuum is worth every penny. We’ve only had it for a couple of days but she loves it! It vacuums absolutely anything including our rug that holds cat hair. Wish I had bought it sooner

Very powerful

We bought this to replace an old DC35 that we are moving to our laundry room. Never had a problem with the old DC35 so it was an easy decision to choose Dyson again. The first thing I noticed is that the new V8 is much quieter and the second thing is that it has very good suction. My reason for 4 stars - the price - it's ridiculous and for something that's made offshore. Great hand held vac but you'll have to save for a few months first.

I have looked at these for over a year, but the price kept me from purchasing. Let me just say that it is worth every penny! I never use my upright vacuum anymore. We have two cats and the dyson v8 cordless is so convenient for keeping the loose hair under control. Our home feels and looks much cleaner!

The suction power is very good even on the low level. I really like the many attachments
and how easy they are to change. I have only had it for a couple of weeks so I cannot comment on its long term durability.

Great machine

This is my second Dyson, my first was the DC 25. I actually bought another cordless competitor and compared them for ease in use, weight and pick up power. I absolutely love this
machine and found it superior in every category! My one criticism would be no headlights that the competitor had.

Very short battery life

Works great for about 10 minutes. Then you must recharge it. Very unfortunate. I will not buy another Dyson product.

Hi there, this is Kelly with Dyson. We're sorry to hear that you've found the run time from your Dyson V8 Absolute to be so short. Your machine will offer two suction modes, MAX and regular. Right out of the box, the machine will be switched to MAX suction mode. This mode provides a generous boost of suction for larger debris or more stubborn messes. This mode isn't designed for everyday vacuuming, as it only provides about 7-8 minutes of run time. In regular suction mode, you'll receive 30-40 minutes of run time, depending on if you're using a motorized floor tool.
