So far I love my new (first) Dyson vacuum. The ease of use is excellent. The pieces snap together and apart quickly with no struggle (unlike my old shark stick). The emptying mechanism is awesome. The only reason it doesn’t get 5 stars is because you have to hold the trigger down the whole time you’re using it. I am a 34 y. o. and it hurts my hand (given I think I may be developing arthritis, but still). If steady on was an option this would be the perfect vacuum.

Best pf the Best!

Friends have recommended that I get this vacuum for months since I got a long haired German Shepherd who sheds like no other ! I procrastinated a bot before my purchase - what was I thinking! I never should have waited as this vacuum is the best ever. As a senior, I have had my share of high end vacuums over the years and this is by far the easiest & most convenient. The easy on/off charging station is perfect, as is the variety of tools !

It does not hold its charge. I have a small house and I have to charge it up before I can finish cleaning

Hi there, this is Kelly with Dyson. We are sorry to hear about the charging and run time issues you've been having with your Dyson V8™ Absolute. You do have two suction modes to select from; MAX which provides a boost of suction and up to 7 minutes of run time, and regular mode. Regular mode is suitable for everyday cleaning, and will give you up to 40 minutes of run time (30 when using a motorized attachment).

I asked for this for Christmas and my husband shopped around until he found just the model I asked for. I love it; it is so easy to use. The only thing missing is a hanger for the accessories.

Great features…weak battery

Overall an excellent vacuum…but the battery life is indeed short. Just manage expectations…if you’re vacuuming over 800sq ft you’ll have to separate your vacuuming time and recharge in between

The Dyson V8 Absolute features a direct-drive cleanerhead, with gentle carbon fiber bristles safe for any flooring type, but powerful enough to pick up debris from both bare floors and carpets. While the machine will offer less run time in MAX power mode, most households find standard power sufficient for everyday messes. When using your machine in MAX with the direct-drive Motorhead (or, the soft roller head), run time will be approximately 7 minutes. Dyson Animal and Absolute variants come equipped with a mini motorized head which is designed to pick up pet hair from furniture and stairs. You can also use this tool with the machine in MAX power for optimum pick-up, if you find that standard power is leaving pet hair behind.
