It does not hold its charge. I have a small house and I have to charge it up before I can finish cleaning

Hi there, this is Kelly with Dyson. We are sorry to hear about the charging and run time issues you've been having with your Dyson V8™ Absolute. You do have two suction modes to select from; MAX which provides a boost of suction and up to 7 minutes of run time, and regular mode. Regular mode is suitable for everyday cleaning, and will give you up to 40 minutes of run time (30 when using a motorized attachment).

I asked for this for Christmas and my husband shopped around until he found just the model I asked for. I love it; it is so easy to use. The only thing missing is a hanger for the accessories.
I would recommend this to a friend!

Great features…weak battery

Overall an excellent vacuum…but the battery life is indeed short. Just manage expectations…if you’re vacuuming over 800sq ft you’ll have to separate your vacuuming time and recharge in between

Hi there, this is Kelly with Dyson. We're sorry to hear that you've found the battery life on the V8 Absolute to be too short. The Dyson V8 Absolute features a direct-drive cleanerhead, with gentle carbon fiber bristles safe for any flooring type, but powerful enough to pick up debris from both bare floors and carpets. While the machine will offer less run time in MAX power mode, most households find standard power sufficient for everyday messes. When using your machine in MAX with the direct-drive Motorhead (or, the soft roller head), run time will be approximately 7 minutes. Dyson Animal and Absolute variants come equipped with a mini motorized head which is designed to pick up pet hair from furniture and stairs. You can also use this tool with the machine in MAX power for optimum pick-up, if you find that standard power is leaving pet hair behind.

Not worth the money

Your vacuum will come with standard and Max power modes. Our cordless models also have a run-time enhancing light touch trigger which ensures battery power is only used when the trigger is pushed. In Max power run time will be up to 7 minutes, and in standard power, you can expect run times of up to 30-40 minutes depending on which tool or attachments you are using.
With regard to the overall battery life of the machine, we would certainly expect your battery to outlive the 2-year guarantee provided with your machine, when it's purchased brand new and from an authorized Dyson retailer. The best for blitz cleans

This is my first cordless vacuum and wow am I impressed. I have a more heavy duty dyson from years ago and I think I won’t need it anymore. This is incredibly easy to use and works amazing at picking up crumbs in the cabinets to hair/fur all over the apt. This vacuum is a gamer changer and will certainly keep my apt clean in a daily basis.

Huge Disappointment

I LOVED this vacuum so much when I bought it. Was the greatest thing I had purchased in a long time. Loved it so much... I bought a second one. Now, I am left with two (almost worthless) vacuums. The battery just doesn't hold a charge. I have always washed both filters, emptied the bin every time I use it, and left it hanging on it's cradle. There are no available batteries and am thinking I will now have to get two new vacuums.
