Bought one of these back in 2016 and it just now started dying within 5 minutes of use. Called and was going to replace the main body but decided to fry a newer version.. so glad I did; this one is super quiet and amazing!! Definitely worth the upgrade!!

Very good but not perfect

This has proved to be very flexible, easy to use and convenient. I particularly like the way it dumps the dirt. The battery is adequate but does run out before the job is done. I can't imagine why it was not designed with an easily replaced battery so that one could have a charged back up battery which could be used once the first is discharged. This would be simple for a company as forward thinking as Dyson.
Granular material is sometimes not picked up by the brush but is scattered about. For such dirt as sand, cat litter, peanuts it might be useful to have a standard non brush vacuum head.

Great sweeper but painful!

Great sweeper but is not user friendly. My excitement with this vacuum quickly vanished. After only a few minutes, the skin on the base of my thumb was rubbed raw, blistered and bloody. Major design flaw. Dyson, is there a different vacuum option...light weight, cleans both hard/carpeted/other (with accessories) surfaces well, minus the painful injury upon using it?? I want to return this sweeper for a full refund. Very disappointed and injured.
No, I would not recommend this to a friend.

I am physically handicapped and cannot handle a regular vacuum. I started out several years ago with a Dyson cordless and loved it. I upgraded to the V6 and now to the V8. The V8 did the whole house with one charge.

We have been waiting for one that would have a vaccum head that would suck up stuff that is large (example dog food, cereal, glass). It is so powerful.
