Great vac but wish the battery lasted

Suction not great

I love Dyson products , as I own many. I bout this stick vacuum for a new apartment. I own the v11 animal as well as the v15 absolute, the v8 doesn’t compare to these. Terrible suction. I understand machines improve with more recent models, but I had hopes it would be sufficient considering the price and brand. Also anytime the brush head slightly hit anything, it would shut off. I’ve since returned this product for a higher model.
No, I would not recommend this to a friend.

Hi Ang, this is Kelly with Dyson. We're sorry to hear about your recent experience with your Dyson V8. I can confirm that when compared to the V11 and V15 Detect, you will have less suction on the V8. V8 offers 2 suction modes and 115 air watts of suction. V11 and V15 both have 3 power modes, and higher max suction levels. It's also rather unusual to hear that your machine would stop working when the floor tool made contact with any furniture or other objects.

This is new to my household; I have owned cordless vacs before and this one has so many featured that will be useful to me; especially the attachments for stairs. I like that the motor heads swivel; very useful.

My daughter bought one and has raved about it for months. I tried it when visiting and it stuck in my mind. I really hate to vacuum and pull or push a heavy machine. I have a Royal upright upstairs and a Kenmore canister downstairs. Now I have this "freedom machine" and vacuum all the time. Even my baseboards and air conditioner filters are clean. GREAT PURCHASE and the chatroom people were sooooo helpful.!
