V8 Animal is dissappointing

I bought my Dyson V8 Animal many months ago. It was expensive but I thought that it's a Dyson so should be superior. Not so. It's ridiculous to have to hold the power trigger for it to work. Why not make it a button of some kind that will keep it on without me holding it down the entire time I use it. Which brings me to another issue. The vacuum doesn't hold a charge long. I can't vacuum my first floor which is only 1500 sq. ft. That's just bad engineering. Plus the dirt cylinder doesn't hold much so it's being emptied more than I've ever had to. And...I've already had to send it back once because it wasn't working. There is a flaw with the filter. All in all, I'm not happy with nor would I recommend the Dyson.
No, I would not recommend this to a friend.

Hello Ellen, this is Kelly with Dyson. The Dyson V8 Cordless vacuum cleaner has a run-time enhancing trigger. Battery power is only used when the trigger is pushed – it is not wasted when moving from room to room, or moving around obstacles. We know that battery run time is a very important aspect of performance for our owners, so we developed a trigger that helps maximize the amount of time you can clean on one charge. We chose a light-touch trigger over an on/off switch to ensure that battery life is never wasted by letting the machine run when it's not in active use.
Dyson V8 Animal also features two suction modes; MAX and standard. Please keep in mind that the V8 offers plenty of suction on normal power to effectively clean your floors because of the motorized brush bar. MAX power is really only needed for tough cleaning jobs. Also, while many do use Dyson cordless machines as their main vacuum at home, if you prefer a longer run time, we’d recommend one of our compact uprights or canister models.

Easy to learn to operate.

Have only used my Dyson for about two weeks but I am very pleased. I find that I reach for it more frequently and quickly than I did my old vacuum that had a cord. Also, I like the size of the roller/brush head because it fits around my furniture and into corners easily. I'm still getting used to all the attachments. I have no wall-to-wall carpet in my house - only area rugs, wood and tile floors. Goes easily from one type of flooring to the next.

I bought a Dyson DC16 handvac used at flea market with bad battery a couple months ago. I replaced it. I was in love with it. It's my first Dyson I own. And now I have get one with with motorized nozzle and mini nozzle. So I did! I love my Dyson V8 Absolute. It really makes my life easier. I can do a quick dusting the whole house.

Nice! Really like how easy it is to run and vacuums the 1st pass over. Gets into the corners easily. Very pleased. Highly recommend.

I need another one

I was worried that it would not be fun it would not perform as well as the vacuum. We have the first generation of the pet vacuum that works wonderful. It works so well I brought another one in January. As always I am very satisfied with it. The smaller one S4 or downstairs main floor and of course I love it my only bad thing I would have to say is it makes you want to buy one for each floor of your house. It would be nice if it held a longer charge.
