Amazing Machine

I have been a Dyson Customer Several times over, first in the UK and now in the USA. I love not having to buy and throw away bags, but much as I like our Dyson upright, it is heavy and the cord is just a pain.
When we moved into a new house, we decided to buy the V8. We have a dog, so the animal version was a must. I can cover all the floors in our 1700sq Ft home in one charge, and I particularly like the powered head units. With the transparent top, you can actually see it sucking up powder from the bathroom.
The balance is great, probably putting little more strain on one's arm than the upright, since the weight of the machine is transferred to the floor. The powered hair remover accessory - if that is what it is called - is extremely useful for car seats and furnishing, whilst the other tools with soft brushes work particularly well with the machine on full power. That does drive the battery down quickly though.
When it wears out, I would love to have the unit that displays the dust particles etc... but I don't see that in my future for a good few years.
I would recommend this to a friend!

I bought this to provide a quick and easy method of keeping my hardwoods free from dog hair. I have the original Dyson ball and it does a fine job with vacuuming but it feels like it takes so much longer since you have to string a cord and keep finding a new location to plug it in. I've been using the V8 for the past 3 days and it is amazing! Plenty of battery life to vacuum my 1500+ feet of hard surface flooring with plenty of power! Will have to attempt a full hose vacuuming session soon to see how battery life performs. But even if it can't do it all at one time, I am much happier using this just due to the fact that there is no cord to hang me up. Much quieter than the ball also, which is super nice because it doesn't bother the animals as much. And I can hear someone talking to me as I'm vacuuming. I am looking forward to using this for a long time.

I've only had this unit for about 3 weeks and it seems to be working extremely well and be able to tackle all of our vacuuming needs. The attachments attach, and detach, easily and the attachments are very versatile. The only downside, in my view, is the very high price. I hope that my opinion is the same after using it for at least a year.

I have had about 1 month now, if I had not let my 30 days expire I may have returned. I am a Dyson person and my vac works fine but I thought to make my life a little easier I would try this. I don't find anything much easier, changing heads from hard floors to carpeting and I find it rather difficult to drive if you will. Handeling is an issue for me. It is a very expensive tool that I am not sure I will use that much. Other than that it does clean carpet good, not wild about pick up on hard floors. This is my first stick so maby some of the issues are me not using one before.
No, I would not recommend this to a friend.

We're also sorry that you've found the pick up on hard floors to be insufficient. The V8 Absolute does feature two cleanerheads; a direct drive head with spinning brush bar - which is a great multi-floor tool, and our soft roller head, which was designed to be used on your hard floors. The soft woven nylon and anti-static carbon fibers make this the ideal tool for picking up finer dirt and dust from bare floor surfaces.
If you are finding that dirt or debris is getting left behind, your machine does offer two suction modes, regular and MAX. While regular suction is generally sufficient for everyday vacuuming, you might find some messes more stubborn, and in those instances, MAX suction is a great option.
