Extremely convenient and easy to use!

We purchased this to replace our "intermediate clean-up" vacuum sweeper. It is beyond our expectations. Very easy to use - in the house AND for my automobile. The light weight feature on the unit makes it easily used on our stairs and landing also.
I would recommend this to a friend!

Can’t handle dog hair

I want to love this vacuum BUT I hate having to empty it every 2 mins of using it cause my dogs hair gets blocked up in the canister when it’s not even full. Therefore I have to stick my hand in the canister to pull out the extra fur out of the tube that wasn’t fully sucked in. I have a golden so I’m aware he sheds a lot but for as pricey as this vacuum is it should be able to do the job without a problem.
No, I would not recommend this to a friend.

Hello, this is Kelly with Dyson. I'm sorry to hear that you've found it to be a struggle to keep up with the pet hair in your home, using the Dyson V8 Absolute. I can confirm that if you do have a several pets in the home, or pick up a lot of debris, dirt and pet hair, you may find that you need to empty the clear bin more often. Longer hair can tend to get trapped in the cyclone, if left to overfill. There is a max fill line on the bin, and you will want to be sure you empty it prior to any debris getting past that line. Otherwise, hair and other debris can get stuck in the upper part of the bin, which is causing the issue you're having, with needing to reach in and get debris out.

The Dyson is light weight and gets into areas where our big, bulky sweeper could not get into without adding attachments. Also had better suction than our other sweeper.

BEST VACUUM PRODUCTS EVER

This is my 4th Dyson product and my 3rd cordless. The new V-8 is 'freaking awesome". The only real problem I had with the last 2 was trying to keep the dog smell out of it. I have 2 greyhounds. The Dyson is awesome on all floors but can't keep the dog smell out when running it. Suggestions? I ruined 2 of them trying things.

Great features and good battery strength

Finally a cordless vac with great attachments and features and the battery can last up to 40 minutes at normal power. Mounts neatly on the wall for recharging.

Dyson cordless vacuums, like the V8 Absolute, will feature a runtime enhancing light touch trigger, which requires little pressure to run the unit as well. It may also prove helpful to ensure the unit is held with a firm, but not a very tight grasp, given that the light touch trigger does not require a very hard press or grasp to operate.
