Great vacuum, terrible battery life

Not a good primary vacuum, unless you live in a tiny space. We have a 1 bdr. and I'm lucky if I get through my kitchen, living-room and mayyybe the bathroom. I've never had enough battery life for our bdr. and you can forget about using it for dusting, baseboards, etc.
Great vacuum, but due to the battery life, it's not worth the money.
No, I would not recommend this to a friend.

Hello there, this is Kelly with Dyson. Thank you for taking the time to share your review of the Dyson V8 Absolute. We're sorry to hear that in your use, you've found the battery life to be too short. Your vacuum will come with standard and Max power modes. Our cordless models also have a run-time enhancing light touch trigger which ensures battery power is only used when the trigger is pushed. In Max power run time will be up to 7 minutes, and in standard power, you can expect run times of up to 30-40 minutes depending on which tool or attachments you are using. Having a shorter run time does sound unusual, and we'd value the opportunity to go over your machine with you.

I have owned many vacuum brands but never a dyson. This has to be the best vacuum I have used! So easy to use , so light weight. It picks up so much, can’t believe how dirty my carpet was before using my dyson

Lightweight, very easy to assemble/use

My wife bought this yesterday as a replacement for a much heavier "backpack" style vacuum and the difference is night/day. This is much easier to use, lightweight and portable, with very easy assembly. After the initial charge, up and running with no problems.

The Dyson V8 has changed how I feel about vacuuming. It is sooo easy to retrieve and put away, and with no cord to manage, I can vacuum the whole house in just a few minutes. It's lightweight, and the suction is better than my old Dyson. It's also quieter. So far, the smaller bin has not been an issue for me. It's easy enough to empty. I especially love that it is so quick and easy to change attachments, and switch from an upright to a hand-held vac for smaller jobs. Time will tell how well she lasts, but right now, I think she's PERFECT.

New TOY!

I've never seen my kids so excited to do chores! My 12-year old son can't wait to vacuum everyday. He says that when he's using the smaller attachments it feels like a "Star Wars blaster!" This is my second Dyson, and I am sold on the ease and function of this new cordless model. I love how it can reach underneath my furniture and in hard to reach places without hassling a cord. I can even take it outside and vacuum the cars! Love it! Thank you Dyson!

I got this as a wedding gift. It is amazing. I wanted a good vacuum because we have a Great Dane and he sheds ALL the hair. Everyday.
