I PURCHASED THIS TO HANDLE THE HARDWOOD FLOORS IN MY HOME. THE ON-LINE ADVERTISING DOES NOT REFLECT THE REDUCED RUN TIME WHEN USING A POWER HEAD. AS MY ENTIRE HOME IS HARDWOOD FLOORS, 7 MINUTES IS A TRUE JOKE. I BELIEVE YOUR ADVERTISING NEEDS TO BE UPDATED TO REFLECT THIS. I DO NOT HAVE A COMPLAINT ON HOW IT PICKED UP THE PET HAIR, DANDER, ETC., BUT AM UNABLE TO UTILIZE IT IN THE LIMITED AMOUNT OF TIME I HAVE AT HOME TO CLEAN (I OWN A SMALL BUSINESS WHICH IS OPEN 7 DAYS A WEEK).
No, I would not recommend this to a friend.

As mentioned on the features section for the V8, it will get 7 minutes of continuous suction while in MAX mode and up to 40 minutes in standard mode (25 minutes when the motorized tool is used).

Easiest vacuum ever!

Replaced an older version and absolutely love this new one. Easier to keep clean and with the great variety of tools, there is one for every job. Love it!!

How have I lived without this?

I have always wanted one of these, and it has lived up to all the hype. Perfect for those quick clean-ups, picks up every little dog hair and bit of dust and so light and easy to use. I love that it isn't too noisy, and it gets the job done super quickly and is easy to clean. Literally a live saver for my OCD cleanliness every day!

Powerful and keeps you air clean while dusting

Had this machine for 9 months now and it’s a great machine from cleaning the home to the car with out triggering my allergies or having a running nose. It’s as powerful as a Shark corded upright but better because of its cyclone system keeping the filters clean and a complete sealed system is a great feature.

Works Great and light weight

This is the fourth Dyson, two we still own. This is perfect for light clean up. Battery will last about 40 min. It is light weight making it perfect for people with weight challenges. The convenience of it all makes it a great purchase. I would not get rid of my main vacuum though.

Having the cordless vac is very helpful and convenient during a busy day however I am disappointed with how it performs on hard wood floors and picking up larger crumbs. While I understand why you have to hold the button on to help preserve the battery life, it is hard on my carpal tunnel! I also wish there was an easier way to clean the vacuum head considering the plastic is clear and shows the dust being picked up.
No, I would not recommend this to a friend.
