I can't stop playing with this vacuum! When used on max, it sucks up so much dirt and dust! I use it constantly. When used on max with the carpet or hardwood attachment, the battery only lasts 5 minutes, but that
Is okay for my needs. I spot dog hair all over my house--in the corners, attracted to the legs of my furniture--I just grab my cordless and take care of it. I also love the small upholstery attachment- I use it all time on my old couch that my dogs hang out on. Cons: The unit is a little heavy and hurts my thumb when using it, but I have come up with a different way to hold it (that is not as intuitive) When using the small attachments, the unit feels heavy, but again, I have adjusted the way I use it. The vacuum is wicked expensive. Pros: just so darn convenient! I love just grabbing it and cleaning up any mess I spot!

Wow, what a powerhouse. I have all wood floors and a few large area rugs. This vacuum is amazing! It transitions perfectly from wood to the area rugs. LOVE the attachments!!! I have this mounted in my bedroom where I can quickly grab it to clean up a quick mess OR to vacuum my whole house. I now have NO excuse to not vacuum. It's so handy! I have a V6 (that works perfectly) that I've had for a few years. I keep it in my lower level. No more cords to trip over or catch on anything. So happy!

WOW - Impressed

Received my new Dyson V 8 about a week ago and have nothing but good things to say about it. I am soooo impressed with the power that has been packed into the new Stick vacuum. It is light years ahead of the DC35 unit I originally bought. If your on the fence about buying a new unit - DON'T BE AFRAID ...this will impress you too.
The only down side I have found so far is the shorter battery life on the MAX Clean setting. for me it has only lasted about 7 - 8 minutes. But thats on constant use. When you place the unit into the Standard Clean setting I have plenty of reserve battery to clean the entire bottom floor of my house AND the stairway as well.
The V8 model is much, much quieter than the DC35 as well. I can clean in the early morning hours without worry of waking the household.
Overall, I would give the new unit the BEST of the Rest rating .

Satisfied with performance And accompanying attachments.previously had Black and Decker vacuum which had problems with it holding charge.new dyson so much better.just wish it had ability to stand up instead of having to lean against wall.i would definitely recommend this vacuum.good power,cleans very well.

My cleaning life has been improved a lot by having the Dyson V8 vacuum, I'm an owner of a cat so before the Dyson, it was difficult and tedious to try to clean its hair from literally everywhere, so now it's easier, faster, and even more effective.
I would recommend this to a friend!

I am please with my vacuum. It has really made cleaning up easier. I actually bought the soft head roller as well for my hard wood floors, and the carpet roller it comes with really picks up per hair like no other.
