Powerful & Light great with pets "Revolutionary"

"Revolutionary" the box said-- the V8 Dyson absolutely is revolutionary.
Vacuuming is no longer a chore . If I see some pet hair (dogs, cats, bunnies), or tracked-in dirt on the rug or hardwood floor, no problem-- let the V8 suck it up. It even works on the brick floor!
I initially used the hard floor attachment on my uneven brick floor in the sun room and found it difficult to push but switching to the soft brush did the trick. It even sucked up stray bits of rabbit hay plus leaves and small twigs the dogs managed to bring in from the yard!
This is strong, but quiet. I could vacuum around the 2 house rabbits loose in the sun room without scaring them. Yet it is powerful , a cordless cleaner in a class by itself.
There's always a reason to vacuum when you have pets, and I hate vacuuming, or rather I did. There is no set up time, no cord to get in the way. I like the easy click and go feature for the attachments and each attachment does its job very well.
The mini motorized brush bar did a great job on cleaning the car interior, much better than any corded vacuum cleaner I have used.
Cleaning overhead with the light wand and attachment was easy, not fatiguing, and it did a much better job than the manual telescoping duster I had been using.
Overall learning curve was smooth with these minor issues: I did have trouble unlocking the mini motorized brush on the side. The slot required a lot of force to the point that I thought I might break it and then the brush didn't pop out a bit like the larger direct drive did to make it easier to pull it out. Putting the soft roller cleaner head back together took a few attempts, but now I have the hang of it. It took me a couple of tries to understand emptying the bin but over all directions were concise and clear and now I'm 100% comfortable with each tool.
Can it be improved? It would be nice to have another dock for the 3 remaining tools and I would probably want to purchase 2 filters to eliminate the 24 hour drying time, but design wise, I wouldn't change a thing.
Dyson has imitators but really is in a class by itself, it comes with more tools, is more versatile, has great suction and makes spot cleaning a breeze to eliminate major clean ups.

I am disappointed with the battery life. It is okay if you use the lower suction but on the high level it doesn't last very long at all. It is heavier that what I thought it would be. I wouldn't buy it again for the price.
No, I would not recommend this to a friend.

We have an all year around shedding dog and just put our house on the market = a lot of vaccuming!!! I just love how easy it is to grab and do the vaccuming. The suction is wonderful as are the attacments.

I purchased this vacuum for my wife for Christmas. Not a very personal gift but she (and I) have been thrilled. It is so easy to grab and use for quick cleanups and the battery last plenty long to vacuum the whole house. Great on our hardwood floors and carpets. Definitely worth the money.

this little guy is incredibly powerful and versatile. the first time I vacuumed my "already clean" carpet, I couldn't believe the amount of hair and fine dirt that my new v8 sucked out of the rug.
While deceptively light and easy to use, the results of this beauty are astonishing.

Love it! EXCEPT the battery running time

I’ve been in love with Dyson for a number of years except I can no longer deal with the weight of it. I purchased the V8 Absolute which I absolutely love ....EXCEPT the battery running length. I read the reviews saying it has a 40 minute time but thats not on the floors and max power. Expect an 8 minute running time for vacuuming floors. I have to do some each day everyday to get it all done at my house.

Love this vacuum! Lightweight and great suction. Only con is there is no interchangeable battery and charge doesn’t last over an hour. In a condo it’s not a big issue for me but may be for someone with more sq footage

For years we’ve watched the Dyson commercials, the various products and innovations. We just bought the portable Dyson V8. We have another portable vacuum that we’ve had for a few years that’s not performing as well as it has in the past. It was 1/4 the price of the Dyson V8 - we had our doubts, but the return policy was more than fair. Wow!! It performs far better than the other portable and even better than our corded vacuum. We love it and haven’t found anything detrimental to say about it.
Actually, we’re so impressed with Dyson that the upright corded vacuum is scheduled to arrive tomorrow and as soon as the Dyson AirWrap is available in my wife’s preferred color, we’ll be adding that to our personal Dyson product line.
The Dyson V8 portable is so well thought out! Ease of operation, multiple useful attachments, small footprint and the simplicity of ensuring a good charge show just how well thought out this product and by extension everything else that Dyson manufactures is compared to the competition is amazing!!
Great job Dyson!!
