Powerful and quiet!

I have contemplated purchasing a cordless for a while now, and I'm glad I waited until the Dyson V8 was available. I have stained concrete floors, and unfortunately everything shows on them. The V8 is so easy to grab and it works like a dream - picks up everything! Best of all ... no fighting that cord!!! Still love my "old" Dyson, but the V8 is my favorite.

Best Dyson ever!!

I bought this Dyson V8 with lots of hesitation. 2 kids and a large shedding dog, i just didn't think it would have the power and suction that i needed for my house. Boy was i wrong. After trying it for the first time, i was in heaven. It exceeded by expectations. Love having no cords to plug in and it's very lightweight. I would highly recommend this dyson to everyone.

First I would like to say thank you to DYSON, it appears you actually listen to the complaints of what customers had about your previous cordless models and made the necessary adjustments that are showcased in the V8 Absolute model. If you have never own a DYSON you better start owning one now. I just recently purchased this V8 Absolute and I am amazed at not only the suction power of this cordless vacuum but also the ease of use of this new design. I am a previous DYSON user as I previously owned the DYSON DC35 cordless vacuum which I loved to use until the brush head stop working for some reason. I just used the V8 Absolute today and I was literally in shock how much dirt was collected from my carpet it was never ending. This thing is so compact but at the same time it puts out suction like its a corded vacuum. I put this thing on maximum and I could literally feel the suction of this thing grabbing the carpet. I never really loved vacuuming until I owned my first DYSON which was the cordless DC35. Most reviews left for vacuums are when the customer first receive them and thats when the vacuum works the best but in time that suction deteriorates. Owning a DYSON for years has made me realize for the first time that there is actually a vacuum that can maintain the same suction even years of use, as long as you do some easy maintenance every once in a while.
PROS:
Suction power is amazing.
No more digging you finger to try to get trapped dirt and lint out of the dirt container. Older models you find yourself having to do this.
Longer battery life up to 40 minutes compared to 20 minutes for the older models. (Game changer)
HEPA filter
Less noisy, yes this is less noisy then my older model I can hear the difference
Automatically shuts off when the battery is fully charge in the docking station, I believe the older models did not do this as I was worried about overshargin my DYSON vacuum.
Lots of accessories

We bought this to Assist a dc14 animal that we had for 15 years. since we have more wood floors than carpet now, we wanted something that was better suited for picking up dog hair off the floor.. The Brush bar does great! it picks up everything and keep the roller clean! Still going to keep the DC-14 for big jobs in basement, But will use the cordless for everything else. Yes there are people who imitate and try to be like a Dyson , But there is only one Thanks Dyson!

Great little sweeper

Overall, I love this Dyson. It moves easily around the floors and furniture. My only dislike is the longevity of the battery. I seem to only get an hour of sweeping time. Most days that is enough, but if I'm doing multiple rooms it doesn't seem like enough time.
