Easy to use.

I love this vacuum. It is lightweight and so easy to use and clean. I was surprised how much it picked up with the first use.

The vacuum works great for the five minutes it works before the battery dies. Marketing said up to 40 minutes of battery life. Didn’t realize that’s only on the weakest setting with no attachments. Add attachments and take it off the weakest setting and it last for five minutes.
No, I would not recommend this to a friend.

Hi Randy, this is Kelly with Dyson. We're glad to hear that initially, you were very pleased with how well the V8 Absolute performs. I can confirm your machine does offer two powerful modes of suction power, and run time will vary between them.
Right out of the box, the machine will be switched on to MAX mode. This mode provides a powerful boost of suction, making it ideal for larger debris and more stubborn messes. If you ever find that something isn't picking up in regular mode, you can easily switch the slider in to MAX and get that boost of suction. This mode isn't intended for everyday vacuuming, as it does only provide about 7 minutes of run time. Regular mode offers 30-40 minutes of run time, depending on if you're using a motorized attachment.

I use this vacuum all the time. It is lightweight and easy to get around things. Especially awesome on the spots where my cats like to lay. Cleans it right up in no time. Love this machine and now own several models.

I like it but …

This vacuum has great suction which is key for a vacuum but I hate that the air always seems to blow in my face. It comes out of the purple ring just above the trigger. I also hate that the instructions are just pictures, no words or explanations of what the attachments are best used for either. I don’t want to have to google everything :/

Hi there, this is Kelly with Dyson. We're glad to hear that thus far in your use, you've been able to appreciate the powerful suction that the Dyson V8 provides. Your machine offers two modes of suction, for picking up any size mess in your home. Regular suction offers up to 40 minutes of run time, and MAX provides a boost of power and up to 7 minutes of run time. MAX suction mode is ideal for bigger debris or messes that are harder to clean.
With regard to the exhaust, since the motor is essentially in your hand, that is where the exhaust from the machine exits. We would advise to keep the motor part away from the face, to prevent that air from blowing directly on you. Regarding the attachments, there is no right or wrong way to use the majority of the tools. With the Absolute model you do have the fluffy soft roller head, and that tool is only designed to be used on hard floors. Simple, easy, convenient

Bought this item a couple of week ago and it is just great. Very easy to use, battery lasts between 30-40 mins. Love not having to pull my animal out and using a cords and not able to get into hard to get areas. It is also very quiet. Glad I purchased this great vacuum cleaner.

Lightweight great

We purchased this vacuum because we needed one that is light weight, maneuverable, cordless, and has the mechanical ability to extract dirt and so much more. This machine is great in that it removes all the dirt, is easy to clean out the dirt-holding area, and maintains a charge sufficient enough to vacuum my entire condo.

I’d been wanting a smaller handheld Dyson since we downsized 2 years ago. SO WORTH IT! Easy to use & empty the canister. I can get around our apartment in no time. I still love our full size Dyson but this guy is perfect for smaller spaces & quick clean ups. We leave it on the charger all the time so it’s always ready!
