Battery life is not worth it.

I bought this in 2017. At first I loved it(it was my first cordless) but slowly I've started to hate it(I'm giving up with the frustration and buying a different vacuum, probably different brand).
Max power has the ultimate suction but I hope you only need it for like 5 minutes. Low power lasts about 30 mins but doesn't give good suction so ya end up going over the same spot multiple times.
What makes this worse is the fact that charging takes 4 hours! According to Dyson the battery lasts up to 40 minutes, so the charging is approximately 1 hour = 10 mins of go time... that's ridiculous. It would definitely be better if it at least took 1 1/2 or 2 hours to charge. Considering the fact, most of the time I can only get half the job done.
The handle also gives me blisters on my thumb, no matter which hand I use.
No, I would not recommend this to a friend.

While MAX power does provide you with a powerful boost of suction - for larger debris or more stubborn messes - the trade-off is a shorter run time, roughly 7 minutes. In regular power mode you should find that suction is sufficient for most household messes. You'll have up to 40 minutes of fade-free run time, depending on which tool you're using. The motorized tools will offer roughly 30 minutes of run time.
One thing we do recommend to help ensure longevity out of your battery will be ensuring that your machine is not plugged in to charge directly after use, as charging the battery while still warm can ultimately result in damage to the battery over time. Also, as a reminder, Dyson backs all new machines from an authorized retailer with a free 2-year guarantee. Rest assured, the battery of a Dyson cordless vacuum can certainly be removed and replaced in the event that it is ever needed. So Easy to use, makes me want to vaccuum

When a product is so easy to use and does such a great job it makes you want to use it! I have owned many other Dysons and this one is my favorite.
I can give the whole place a quick go over and it still has power to spare!

Lightweight, easy to use, heavy duty

I purchase this one month ago and I couldn't be happier. There are NO second thoughts about bringing out the vacuum cleaner - for any task...hardwood, tile or carpeted floors, upholstery, stairs or car. This is so lightweight, easy to use and it gets everything! Very happy with the 40 minute charge time on the V8. I haven't run out of charge yet when using. The additional attachments are wonderful also - crevice tool, hardwood floor head, carpet head, upholstery & car head and the brush attachments complete the package and would be missed if not included.
This is my first Dyson and my only regret is that I waited so long to get one. Then again, I may have waiting just the right amount of time....this 40 minute charge is great and with what I like to accomplish once I start I'm not sure 20 minute charge would have sufficed for me.
For ease of storage, a great accessory item would be for Dyson to sell a separate wall attachment to hold the additional attachments.
Bottom line - Get it - you'll be happy you did!

Loving my new Dyson. Does a wonderful job on my hardwood floors. Vacuuming with my Dyson is a breeze and I am always amazed at how much dust is collected!
